His record isnt really perfect. Any other fighter would have at least FOUR losses as we all know

Interesting you can’t answer the question. Just name 1 fighter C.J. who has defeated more world champions?

But he does not have 4 losses does he. We know your hero Margacheato has 8 losses.

    Olu G. Rotimi,

He was a great fighter in his own right. But he wasn’t a great fighter as in: An elite, A level guy, on the level of Floyd and Manny.

At the end of the day, he was a world class LWW. Nobody can disagree with that. But it wasn’t a great division at the time.

Floyd wasn’t a big WW, but as you know, he has long arms and a huge reach for a man of his stature.

    Canelo is an excellent fighter.

Your analysis is spot on. But no, he wasn’t in his prime. You can’t pretend that he was just to suit your agenda. He’s currently in his prime now. He’s now fully matured.

This current version of Canelo (if he could have made weight) would have given Floyd a much tougher fight. Yes, he’s a counterpuncher. But this version would never have given Floyd as much respect. He would never have given him so much time and space. Oscar was a boxer and not a fighter. But he took rounds off of Floyd by showing aggression and pressing him when he was on the ropes and in the corners. Even though many of his shots were blocked, Floyd was covering up whilst Oscar pressured him with shots. And it made Floyd uncomfortable and influenced the judges. And that’s what Canelo should have done. But he didn’t. He just waited on him and seemed terrified of being countered by Floyd’s right hand.

    Behave.

It was extremely close until the last 3-4 rounds where Oscar faded due to his stamina. And that was a version of Oscar who was past his best and who’d been inactive.

I’m assuming that you watched the press conferences.

I tried twice to watch them but I had to turn them off after 5 mins.

    It was awful.

It was like the WWE and Connor McGregor’s voice was so horrible and irritating.

    I couldn’t stand it.

Yeah right excuses excuses. No excuses were made when he knocked out Mayorga in the previous fight. You mention running out of stamina as if it’s a valid excuse. It was not that close at all and some of the judging was disgraceful. Floyd won 8-4 in rounds or 9-3 in reality. Throwing punches stupidly and missing or hitting the other fighters arms don’t score points. Floyd always had Oscar’s number. Had they fought at Welterweight with smaller gloves it would have ended up as a full execution of Oscar.

I did watch it. McGregor is an odious character. He got what he deserved from Floyd and Khabib.

Yeah, but the problem is, you can’t distinguish between real haters, and genuine guys who just have some criticisms of him.

    He didn’t avoid needles.

He wanted a cut off because of what had happened with Morales over 5 years earlier.

They went back and forth on the number of days, but they couldn’t reach a compromise so they went their separate ways.

Manny wanted a 24 day cut off but Floyd would only accept 14.

Manny then agreed to the 14 days to try and make the fight.

The fight could have been made at that point, but Floyd decided that it was no longer on the table.

A year later, and Floyd wanted to pay Manny a flat fee, in order to keep all of the PPV revenue from a fight that ended up grossing $600m.

Now to any knowledgeable person, those were not the actions of a man who wanted to fight.

How can we have a debate if you’re going to behave in this manner?

I’ve already said that in my honest opinion, his win over Oscar was his best. Because Oscar had great skills and he was taller, heavier, and he possessed a longer reach. However, that doesn’t alter the fact that Oscar was past his peak and he’d been inactive.

His fight against Mayorga was 12 months prior to his fight with Floyd.

His fight with Floyd was only his 5th fight in 4 years.

Mayorga wasn’t a great fighter. His claim to fame was beating Forrest. He lost to every other top fighter he faced apart from a badly faded version of Vargas.

Floyd never won 9-3, get back in the real world.

It was a close fight until the last 3 rounds.

If it had been the versions of Oscar who’d fought Shane, Floyd really would have had his hands full.

If a guy comes on here and criticises Floyd, you will automatically label him as a hater.
