I am on record saying that I do not think that a Mike Tyson comeback is plausible and I do not want to see it. I would like to scrub that record and change my response.

Fres Oquendo is 46 years of age himself, and has not thrown a punch in anger in 6 years. Bizarrely, he has a standing lawsuit against the WBA to be named their rightful "regular" champion, stemming from the fact that just a couple of years ago, he was supposed to fight for this honor (for some reason) with Manuel Charr before the latter got popped for steroids. The always-honest WBA maintains Charr as "regular champion" (whatever that is), despite himself not having fought in three years, and Oquendo retains the number 15 heavyweight ranking. For those not familiar, I swear to you that I am not making this up.

The great thing about Oquendo is that he sucked even before the six year layoff. The WBA (always honest) could name Tyson retroactive champion emeritus based on his status as a cultural icon (or whatever nonsense they want to make up) and match him up against Oquendo for the vacant title. This would settle the lawsuit, and yes, there is a chance that 53 year old Mike Tyson, ravaged by age, ring wars, coke, dope and booze, might come out of the ring a "world champion" again. Or at least champion of the part of the world that the WBA regular belt covers.

Don't lie to me that you wouldn't watch. You know you would. It is too good a thing not to happen. We must contact the WBA en masse and make this real!

Smh.. Feels like you need to have an A average in college level calculus to understand the WBA’s belt situation in each division.. But hey if Canelo is considered a 4 division champion then Tyson can definitely lay claim to becoming the oldest champion is history.. Sign me up for it

If Mike Tyson beat any WBA champ, he could go down in history as boxing's youngest and oldest heavyweight beltholder.

    That would be something.

    And I would watch, yes.

    I think you're a clever match maker bro !
Fres lacks concussive power, is not a super heavyweight and has a built in Latin market. Heck bring back Felix Trinidad Sr as head trainer for fres!

If Mike does decide to do something beyond charity exhibitions, this is probably the very highest level he should venture to (which is a pretty damn low level, but still risky for an old guy who smokes constantly and hasn't fought in 15 years). See if Valuev could be lined up to face the winner. Maybe even Owen 'What The Heck' Beck.

Tyson would probably win this. He has been training hard as he found new and refreshed interest on boxing. I don't think Fres is still training. The fact that that guy still clinging to WBA's ranking for almost 6 years until now (Apr 2020 rating) is just a ridiculous rare phenomenon.

Yeah, but so is Fres Oquendo and the WBA.

    That's the point here.

Mike Tyson is 53 year old, a pot head, who claims to hate boxing because of ego, he will be even shorter probably about 5 9, can he even make 200lbs,

fres B level contender, not much younger, just wants a pay day, can see him lying down

    yeah I’d watch it

got a feeling Briggs would put a serious beating on tyson, just mike looks tiny these days
