5 fights that should have happened in the '90s or '00s and what weight class:

    (Not In Order)
    1. Riddick Bowe vs Lennox Lewis (HW)
    2. James Toney vs Bernard Hopkins (Middleweight - 160)
    3. Felix Trinidad vs Shane Mosley (Junior Middleweight/ Super Welterweight - 154)
    4. Vernon Forrest vs Oscar De La Hoya (Welterweight - 147)
5 Gerald McClellan vs Roy Jones (Middleweight - 160)

There were TONS of fights that crossed my mind, the only criteria here is try to make it at a weight using 2 fighters that would have been competitive at the time (Example, I may have hypothetically wanted to see Sergio Martinez vs Saul Alvarez but I think by the time Canelo hit his prime, Sergio was too far into his twilight, so that fight didn't make it).

Trinidad-Mosley never really crossed paths. By the time Mosley moved up to fight Delahoya, Trinidad was up at Middleweight.

So instead of Trinidad-Mosley, I think a better choice would have been for the DLH-Trinidad rematch to have happened.

Ok, that could had simply been your matchup, in January 2000 Mosley weighed in at 148 for a fight with Willy Wise, and in July of the same year Trinidad didn't fully weigh 154 (152.5) against Mamadou Thiam, it's 4 1/2 pounds off, the fight could have been made and we are talking hypothetical. Why does someone always have to do that? If you wanted a DLH vs Trinidad rematch that's fine, put it on YOUR list

Trinidad was by then a juniormiddleweight who no longer was going to step down to fight at 147 lbs as he had been struggling to make the weight for the last few of his fights there.
Mosley during that time had only stepped up to Welter so that a big fight with DLH could be made.

…...and no, Trinidad didn't weight 152 vs Thiam, he came at the full 154 lbs weight limit.
Trinidad only had 3 fights at Junior middle, against Reid, Thiam, and Vargas. The Reid fight his first at the weight was the only one of those fights Trinidad didn't weigh the limit of 154 lbs, for that fight Trinidad was one pound under at 153 lbs.
Trinidad was fast outgrowing even 154 lbs as his stay there lasted less than a year.

The thread states to name fights that should have happened in the 90's and into 2000's, and Trinidad-Mosley is clearly not one to say should have happed as their paths never really crossed paths for anyone to say it "should" have happened.

    Somebody mentioned DLH-Forrest...…..
…….as well, a fight that should have happed is DLH-Wright. Wright is a fighter that was robbed vs Vargas, but then clearly beat both Trinidad and Mosley.
DLH always shut his radar off when the name Wright came up.

There was little bit of talk about this, but I want to say it came much later. Like after Tito came back. But it's been a while...
