    This is pertinent to the thread on who it harder between Dempsey and Holyfield.

    I am very confident that if Dempsey fought Bowe, something would give.

    Either Dempsey would stop Bowe, or Bowe would stop Dempsey, but there would not be a winner by decision.

    Laugh all you want but the men that Dempsey beat were skilled fighters who would do well in any heavyweight era, including this one.

    One served the United States honorably in World War II, Jack Dempsey, the other fighter joined The United states Marine Corps after the Andrew Golota fight, stayed for 2 days, then quit. Bowe did have a very promising career, especially his bouts with Evander Holyfield in the 1990's. But he was wasted talent for whatever reason. I think in a hypothetical match, he would be too strong for Jack Dempsey, who was no slouch himself. Late stoppage for Riddick Bowe, even though Lennox Lewis referred to him as Chicken Bowe.

    For all we know, Dempsey may have done one better than Bowe and stopped Holyfield. Then he would have defended the belt vs Lennox Lewis and he may have had Lewis on the canvas being counted out to 10. Of course all of this AFTER he unified the CW division.
