which is possible. His power is exceptional.. If he lands. And that will always be something his opponents have to respect.

For sure! He seems a bit of a glass cannon though. Fury hurt him pretty much every time he put it on him.

Ruiz wasnt ranked ? How does a heavyweight champion get an unranked guy to fight ? I guess you got a lot of practice with Wilder facing Arreola , Washington ? Maybe even ranked 25 or so malik Scott for a title shot as his elimination bout ? The thing is Ruiz was ranked that’s how he got his title shot and he wasn’t out of the rankings mysteriously like some in the WBC before facing Wilder ,in fact he has also fought for a title many like myself thought he won against Parker .

It doesn’t matter where Ruiz is he’s never been warned about being pulled from a fight for health concerns and that was the time Ortiz was just healthy enough he lucked out on a bell ringing to soon to save Wilder .

Wilder will need to put more pounds into his body if the third match between him and Fury takes place. He was too thin to clash against Fury who was a lot bigger than him in the last fight.

Sure, if he goes back to fighting handpicked opponents who can't really threaten him then he'll have all the time in the world to land his big right. But that isn't a universal statement since we've seen he can be hurt and stopped.

He was 230 in his last fight. What do you want him to be? 240? 250? Can you imagine how slow and sluggish he'd be at those weights?

I'll watch Wilder against absolutely anyone. He's great fun. If his confidence goes though then he'll be totally pointless

I think his confidence was all bluster to start with. If he really had that level of confidence in his abilities he wouldn't of allowed his team to have fed him such a poor diet of also rans throughout his career.

yeah, but his punches are hard. I am just saying that kind of power and speed also is dangerous

yeah I know. I am not a great Wilder fan, I just think with that kind of power it makes his opponents fight differently and it takes just one punch.

I don't think it was all bluster, but I think there was a kind of split personality at work in Wilder, one half of him thinking he's this unstoppable warrior, the other thinking am I really that good? A man with lack of confidence in himself wouldn't have beaten Ortiz twice or dropped Fury in the twelfth. He would have capitulated when Ortiz put it on him and shut down when outboxed by Fury. It was his unswerving faith in his ability to land his right hand and end things that enabled him to achieve both feats.

Now that he's officially beaten though I think the doubts are going to take over. I expect him to be a very different fighter when he comes back. A lot more tentative and gunshy.
