I don't think he's a quitter. Once he's there, he's there to win. The confidence issues are before the fight when he decides who he thinks he will definitely beat.
Alright! I just thought that he was around 212 pounds in his last fight against Fury. If you said was true then Wilder will have no chance to beat Fury in the third fight. In the last fight, Fury made Wilder look very bad both inside and outside.
Yeah, he seems particularly sold. I think people are a little harsh though. It's not a good resume, for a champion it's certainly poor. But there has been worse and will continue to be worse. He's still only lost to someone I personally consider to be a clear #1 in the division. People trying to hype it up don't help but it's just a weak to mediocre resume, nothing else to it. I don't know why people get so angry about it
Well if the only real name on your resume is the top guy in the division then you can fall back on that I guess. And the reason why it winds people up is the attempt to deceive people into thinking it's a better resume than we can see it to be. Team Wilder have always wanted all the credit without putting in the work.
Him and his team are far, far from alone in doing that but he seems to be the figurehead that it's directed at. Why him more than others is what I want to figure out. Maybe because he's in the in HW division
This is a good point and deserves repeating. Not many prime top ranked heavyweights can persuade Deontay Wilder to get in a boxing ring with them. It's only really happened once, in Fury v Wilder 2. Maybe twice if you think Bermane Stiverne at 36 counted as 'prime'.
Because he's not especially likeable and has a very big mouth considering the career path he's taken. He has zero self awareness and doubles down on stupid comments like wanting to kill someone in the ring just after a number of fighters had died from boxing related injuries.
