It won’t matter what he weighs ,he’s made weight an excuses before to even in Ortiz fight he said he was to light around 210 but a Wilder at 215 even is to small for a guy who can box weighing 270 . He’s going to need weight and hope for the best and work around it ,there’s no way he can cope with Fury on inside ,weighing less won’t help him . His best bet is sticking to a walk around weight of 230 and letting his body adjust because a 6”7 guy below 220 is just asking for trouble against Fury even if most think he looks sluggish,I didn’t see any thing to show that I saw the same guy who was able to stay in pocket at least briefly trading upper cuts but a smaller Wilder won’t be doing that he’d get rag dolled in the same fight even worse, imop a 215 pound Wilder would gas even quicker giving up almost 50 pounds on top of him . It’s a good point to why weight does matter when you have no advantages outside one shot power .
You already have. A year ago this month, Dominic Breazeale was the mandatory WBC contender. In his prime. Had an 85% KO percentage. Had one loss in his career - to Joshua. And Wilder wasted him inside a round. And the KO was so swift and dramatic, it supposedly led Anthony Joshua to have a panic attack against Andy Ruiz. (Wasn't that one of Joshua's excuses, that Wilder stopped Breazeale so much faster than he had?) So, Wilder gives you what you want ... does it so dramatically it gives Anthony Joshua panic sweats ... and you dismiss it. Because Breazeale didn't win. Just stop with the bull like "I just want to see him do this" ... You don't like him. And it doesn't matter what he does. You still won't like him. When he's retired, you and all the others whining will complain about all the boring 12-round decisions and complain that there aren't more KOs like when Wilder was fighting. Like I said yesterday, there's always one last person to cross the finish line. In the case of Wilder, there are a lot of people battling for last place to cross that finish line. You've complained for so long, you don't even pay attention when you get what you ask for. Hell, you guys even got the Wilder loss you wished for, AND YOU ARE STILL COMPLAINING. Wake UP!
Dominic Breazeale was the mandatory WBC contender??? for most of us it should have been Whyte. I think Whyte would smash Wilder up that's why thay stayed away from Whyte. Wilder can still bang with the best but he's been kept away from to many in the top ten.
Full fight highligjts on youtube? Let me tell you something man.... I watched the live fight which was relayed to BKK my hometown on Sunday morning (it was Saturday night in the U.S), but I just could not remember Wilder's actual weight in that fight. BTW, do you think that I never watch boxing on youtube? That's so ridiculous!
If he knocked out Whyte in one round, there would be 30 new threads the next day bashing Wilder ... and Whyte, too. (Because, as soon as you lose to Wilder, you're automatically a bum on here.) When he knocks out a top contender, people complain about him. When he gets knocked out, people complain about him. When he signs to fight the World Champ three times (the best person he could possibly fight in any division in the whole sport), they bring up a fight from 13 years ago in the amateurs and say he sucks. Doesn't matter. They're being hypocrites when they say "I just want to see him do this." When they get what they want, it doesn't matter. So they should stop the trite, "Well, if he does this..." garbage. Like they have an open mind. They're going to hate him until he's gone. And for a while after that. And then, gradually, they'll look around and it will sink in. They aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. It's going to take a while.
I changed it to WHEN, because it's clearly confused you. WHEN he knocked out a top contender. When he signed to fight the World Champ THREE TIMES. And that is your uncle. (LOL) Don't sit on Auntie's lap.
Breazeale wasn't ranked for that fight. He has modest skills, and was almost upset in a fight before. That does not qualify for a top ten guy. Alphabet org rankings rankings do not count! Breazeale is ranked #22 at box rec, and that might be generous. I never said Wilder can't punch. For that fight Breazeale came in fat and slow. He got whacked. Let Wilder fight a currently ranked top ten guy, in his prime and win. He's never beat a top ten man ranked by Ring magaizne or Box rec who was 35 years old or younger and I don't think he ever will. The straight dope is this, Wilder will be 35 by the next time he fights, and likely has a confidence issue. Fighter saw how easily Fury hurt him, how he can't deal with pressure. Add in a confirmed glass body and jaw on Fury's power level, opponents won't be as gun shy. His game plan of hanging way back and eventually landing the bomb is in jeopardy now. His window is come back is closing and without his belt he's not fighting anymore top 20-50th ranked guys. He needs a win to move up. A fight with Parker would be very good. Or Usyk. Why not? One more KO loss and given his age, I day he's done.
Like I said, Breazeale was the WBC mandatory contender. If you can't even acknowledge basic facts right at the start, you're never going to catch up. It doesn't matter what it looks like to you. You are lost. The facts matter.
Yes " WBC Mandatory " but not viewed as a top 10 opponent by any 3rd party respect rankings. I acknowledge that Breazele was WBC mandatory. Not that he trained hard for it. Can you acknowledge what I said about Wilder beating zero Ring Magazine or Box rec opponent in the top ten who were 35 years old or under is also correct? Up to you, we both know I'm correct. WIlder's WBC belt was a fringe contender's dream! Now for a bit of fun. This content is protected Hello manager XYZ, how are you? I see you managed to " buy " the #1 contender status at the WBC. Nicely done, I hear those guys like seafood dinners ( Laughs ), I should know. Pleasure doing business with you.
To be fair we all know it should have been Whyte not Breazele,,Wilder would have been liked more if he faced Whyte than picking Breazeale.
