June 12th at the Pałac in Konary. Airing on internet PPV for zł 20 (about five bucks). As the boxing world spends its time in pandemic isolation pondering a charity exhibition between fifty-somethings Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield, we get a little hors d'œuvre to hold us over between a pair of iron-chinned (but deeply flawed, even in their primes) 40-year-old heavyweights. ...and honestly the winner of this has about the same chance of making any post-COVID noise and capturing a world heavyweight title as would the winner of Tyson vs. Holyfield III.
Bookmakers have KJ a 12/1 underdog, which despite his consistently losing ways in recent years seems awfully bold considering Wach is...Wach.
It being in Poland, there's almost no question of him getting a decision but I don't think a robbery is far-fetched. Johnson is an old spent force with very little motivation to win for the larger part of a decade now - but then, so is Wach, and his skills were always just mediocre whereas Johnson once had the potential to be world class.
Wach was close to stunning Whyte in spots in that one but Whyte was out of shape where Wach wasn’t .Clearly he lost his window for another title shot but staying active is better then anything , a win over Johnson doesn’t do much but it’s a fight ,not sure why these guys on this forum drag the sport down ?
Johnson has as good a chin and better defense than Whyte (but, admittedly, far less power and killer instinct, making him the lesser fighter)
Probably Wach but I am hoping for an upset. I would like to see Kingpin get a big (well, notable) win and go out in style.
