This is an extension of the Let’s Create the Perfect Fight ... Round by Round thread:

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/let’s-create-the-perfect-fight-round-by-round.648592/

Ground rules: This fight is going the distance, so each nominated round has to go the full three minutes — so something like the 12th round of Chavez-Taylor I is not eligible. All weight divisions are eligible. And in rounds where the participants faced each other more than once, please specific which fight. Gloved era only.

And importantly, this should be about the best rounds not the most historically significant.

The nominated first rounds are in the poll. I’ll leave voting open for 72 hours and we’ll move along to Round 2, then 3, etc., until we’ve gotten through 15:

    Hagler-Hearns

Mancini vs Frias is my pick. But since that's not allowed, I'll go with Hagler/Hearns.

I like threads like this, my picks for two would be between Norris/Waters and Naseem/Kelley.

Both are nominated so you’ll get your chance!

Funny thing watching Paret-Ortega, they’re going at a furious pace and you can see people in the front row sitting expressionless with their arms crossed. Tough room.

Garza vs Mesa is another recommended 1st rd. But of the group
discussed I'll go with Pryor vs Arguello. To see Pryor go at Arguello
like a pit-bull on steroids , and Arguello standing his ground and
blasting Pryor making him respect him and change tactics is
a everlasting vision in my mind...... And this was only the 1st rd.

I went for Hagler - Hearns but just watched Frazier - Quarry.... Wow very underrated round in history.

You should definitely vote in the poll. I came very close to going that way myself but had to go with Hagler-Hearns on sheer ferocity (not that it was lacking in Pryor-Arguello).

Where you been? The original nomination thread has been up for like two weeks.

If you have any Round 2-15 nominations please jump in. Link is at the top of this thread but it’s been on the front page more often than not since it was created.

I'd have to say Moore-Durelle I is probably my favorite, although it's a difficult pick, and there's plenty of other good ones not on the list. Surprised not to see Dempsey-Firpo on here tho

You definitely should have nominated if you think it’s one of the best, I agree.

Super close between Hagler-Hearns and Pryor-Arguello. I went with the latter.

    Out of the ones listed
I have Hagler v Hearns just squeaking by Frazier v Quarry. The rest arent close IMO
I based my opinion on competitiveness

Carlos Palomino vs Davey Boy Green, June 14 1977, they both went at it for the rest of the fight until round 11, when Carlos landed that deadly left hook to end it. The Marvelous Marvin Hagler vs Thomas The Hitman Hearns was a very great battle in round 1, no one knew who was going to win that epic war. Joe Frazier vs Jerry Quarry 1, from June 23 1969 was a very good round 1 was also a great one.
