You're really asking for it with a question like this. The Tyson fans will be here to lynch anyone who says Spoon. As much as I think Tyson's overrated and Witherspoon is underrated, I would pick Tyson to win over a defense-minded Witherspoon. But Witherspoon is a great cerebral fighter who is no workout for Tyson, but a possible victor over Tyson. I say 50/ 50 either one wins. Witherspoon certainly had the power and chin to compete with Tyson, no matter what the blind Tyson fans say.

It was a possibility for March 1987, provided that Tim defeated Bonecrusher Smith in defense of his WBA Heavyweight Title, but things did not work out that way, we ended up with the Bonehugger fight instead.

Tyson by UD. Tyson was savage Witherspoon would go into a shell. Not quite to survive but he didn't have the extra gear to really challenge Mike down the stretch. A replay of Tyosn vs Tucker imo

Very conservative view among all the people who want to kill everyone else for saying Tyson would ever lose a fight.

Give me Tyson in this match up and I'm not so sure that he doesn't stop Witherspoon as Bonecrusher Smith did it in 1 round.

Tyson is a 65-35 favourite IMO.

I think Tyson's superior handspeed and combination punching would win him the early rounds. Witherspoon would come strong in the middle rounds and the later rounds would be fairly even with Tyson's speed giving him a slight edge.

Tyson wins a 7-5 or 8-4 type decision while surviving some rocky moments.

Tyson late tko. Though I'd be rooting for Spoon to prove me wrong.

Tyson stoppage early or comfortable decision. He had plenty of punch variety to sort that cross armed defense out and Witherspoon's penchant for loading up on wild wide overhand rights would be like a dinner bell for Tyson.

Yeah I have a feeling that cross armed style won't fly with Tyson.

I think Tim can do enough to make a small case of it being disputed, but Mike still pulls it off. Maybe in a 15 rounder, it would be different.
