I'd be delighted to see some boxing. Would be quite something if Hearn pulled it off. A lot of misery and negativity on here.
Kell Brook was offered the fight for career high money and he said.......YES! Dillian Whyte would have popped a cap in Warrens ass cuz of late payment of his purse. What's your point again?
Re GGG - yes, but he'd probably not have got the fight over here. I think he'd have sent Kell over to America in the same way he sent Gary Lockett over to have Pavlik splatter him. Whyte? No.
We all know who shot Frank Warren. But getting shot by a disgruntled fighter doesn't mean you deserved to be shot. It shouldn't be a mark against the man who was shot !
What? What!? Fwank Warren is renowned for not paying his fighters on time or not at all. The case with Ricky Burns all started with non payment of over 100k in purse money months, MONTHS after his fight with Kevin Mitchell. I seem to recall that fight and card in particular was a sellout and likely very financially lucrative to Fwank soooo, why delay paying one of the most popular fighters on your rosta for so long? I very much doubt that kind of shite gets written into fighters contracts. You fight a high level, domestic opponent in a 50/50 sellout fight you expect to get ****ing paid and guess what, that was likely why someone took a pop at Fwank for screwing them out of their hard earnt. Quite why that kind of behaviour is so easily defended is beyond me.
All of what you write might well be true but using the fact that he was shot as further evidence against him isn't quite right. He was likely shot for something he'd done (in business dealings or the legal system) or was perceived to have done to the fighter in question. But the guy who pulled the trigger was clearly a nutter to have done it and even if his gripe was genuine his actions cancel out any argument he has. As a neutral observer, I'd say Frank was extremely unlucky to have been shot under such circumstances. I can't exactly stand up and agree "oh look, he was shot, that also proves how dodgy he is". That's all I'm saying reallly.
All I'm saying is too many people on here **** on Hearn and Matchroom while holding up Warren as some paragon of virtue. It's all basically down to envy and jealousy. People don't like the fact that Hearn was born with a silver spoon and a platinum safety clip holding his nappy together. I personally couldn't give a rats ass what people's backgrounds are, you can't do a fat lot about the circumstances you're born into and brought up in after all.
Lockett had been competing at middleweight for 6 years without losing when he fought Pavlik. Brook was a welterweight. Stepping up 2 divisions to fight GGG ruined his career. It was a ridiculous move by Hearn.
If Hearn can pull this off and provide us with some decent boxing, fair play to him. PPV or not I'll be watching for free so any decent level of boxing is very much welcome. I hope it happens and I can't imagine why anyone who claims to be a boxing fan wouldn't want it to happen.
