I wouldn't quite go that far. He came within two or three hairs' breadth of repeating the trick with Vitali before getting knocked out himself.

Not as close as Bert Cooper came to knocking out Holyfield, but I don’t see Bert (who beat a lot of fighters better than Corrie, even if his 247-pound, ballooned-up self lost to Sanders) being picked to beat virtually every fighter ever in fantasy matchups like this guy is.

Corrie should have played horseshoes instead of golf or boxing because close counts in that game.

One of these days I should finally look up how horseshoes is scored.

Both guys could be hurt and dropped. I don’t think Sanders was conditioned enough to compete at an elite level, but his physical gifts could allow him to blow AJ out early. If he can’t pull that off I’d go with AJ by ko in middle rounds

Sanders had really fast hands and devastating power with his left, so if he catches Joshua, it's over. If Joshua fights a super cautious fight he could very well stop Corrie.

As long as Corrie is motivated he crushes Joshua.

Cooper might be picked more often if he almost had Holyfield out and also knocked Tyson for a 10 count in 1987.

And if he got KTFO in his prime by Nate Tubbs, whose other best wins were over a couple of trial horses with somewhat winning records?

(All of Nate’s other wins were against guys with losing records, he beat a couple of guys who were combined like 28-17 and every other fighter he faced with a winning record knocked him out.)

If Sanders were a band he’d be a one-hit wonder.

The Joshua that beat Wlad would beat Sanders, todays version? No.

The man who destroyed Prime Wlad with little to no effort vs The man who had a tough slugfest with the old version of him. I wonder who would win?

I like Sanders speed ,southpaw stance and straight left hand to cause the upset here.
When I first saw this thread I thought it matched the Forum's, Col Saunders against AJ ,if it had been so I would have tentatively picked AJ.
