What do we know about his team? How professional is his setup, trainer, conditioner, dietitian etc?

    Hopefully

These Eastern European and Central Asian fighters also need good promoters though, the kind who can get them fights with the top contenders.

Hunter declined Hrgovic who is promoted by Hearn on DAZN on the Ruiz Vs AJ undercard, I see no one in a rush to fight a guy like that . Hrgovic will fight AJ by taking a mando spot sooner then later , he was going to fight Bakole on the Pulev undercard I believe after his last fight that was canceled.

Hunter wouldn't have much of a chance.

Honestly I've seen a lot of hrgovic and I'm yet to see anything special.

He ticks all the boxes to appeal to a "certain type" of fan, but I'm not getting carried away.

His best bet will be to try get an AJ fight, that'd be competitive. He best avoid Fury unless he wants to get shown levels.

To be fair Hunter turned down the fight with Hrgovic to face Povetkin are higher ranked and far better known contender (and one who was a bit long in the tooth). Risk/reward wise Povetkin was a better pick. Hopefully Hrgovic can get him or any other real contender in the ring soon, he is a prospect I have a lot of hope for.

The incredibly robotic juggernaut Joe Joyce outworked him with ease.

Hrgovic was ranked over him in the IBF , Povetkin was ranked over him in the WBA. Povetkin doesn’t get you closer to a title shot he was coming off a loss and Hunter knew he had just had shoulder surgeries, they thought they would get an easier win with a proven name . Hunter has called out everyone including Bakole who’s not in top 10 but when Hrgovic was there he said no .

The current situation is Hrgovic is undefeated and has a higher ranking at 6 in the IBF then Povetkin at 7 in the WBA currently ,he’s also over him in the WBC By one spot at number 8 as of May . Hunter looks good now getting a draw but did he get a risk / reward instead of chancing a win over a at least equally ranked guy undefeated , I’d say no because I thought he lost the Povetkin fight but I guess it boosted his rankings in one spot so in a way he lucked out he is ranked 4 in the IBF from 7 .

I'd like to see Joshua/Pulev and Fury/Wilder happen sooner than later, as although they are pretty good fights in themselves, their conclusion opens up the incentive for other HWs to fight each other for title shot places. Pulev/Wilder stepping aside psychologically leaves them in place in the background ... meaning that surely other heavyweights will be reluctant to take on possible losses for the chance of a win which will fade during the time these mandated/contracted fights to take place. Hrgovic/Hunter etc. need a signature win right when elimination belts are looming next on the horizon. Timing is everything.

Disagree here, beating Povetkin would absolutely put you closer to a title shot. Maybe not in the rankings but in the eyes of a promoter, which is really what matters more.

Rankings get you closer ,not promotion and not one coming off a knockout loss . Hrgovic will have a mandatory spot sooner because he’s ranked in a better rotation and is going to be in a title position for AJ which is mandatory ,so no , a promoter can’t override a mandatory, you see that now otherwise AJ wouldn’t bother with Pulev.

    Are you stupid

Hearn promotes AJ and Hunter if hunter had done the business vs Povetkin Hearn can make Hunter vs AJ whenever he wants as a voluntary. You can sit around waiting on mandatories all day, well when AJ already has mandatories in the pit Hrgovic could find himself waiting a long ass time.

Hunter with a good win vs Povetkin would likely have got the first voluntary shot.

Hrgovic won't be fighting for a title anytime soon, Pulev is next, then likely the undisputed fight, then perhaps a rematch, then maybe a voluntary, then there will likely be someone else in front of hrgovic etc

Corona virus has screwed things up so my advice for hrgovic would be to take any decent money fight offer he can get because he's a couple of years away from a mandatory fight

AJ won’t be making any voluntary fights soon ,he is a 4 belt holder . I didn’t say Hrgovic would be fighting fir a belt soon but he’s in line for a mandatory eliminator in 2021 ,

Hunter with a win vs Povetkin gets him a near same rankings as Hrgovic,if you know how to score fights you know Hunter lost that fight so I have no idea why you spazzed out , my guess is your a Fury guy who can’t think rationally? Almost as dumb as the other fan base but you drink more bc your Irish I guess and can’t get it right but at least you try to know boxing so there’s that ...right ? Lmao
