I took Pakkuman's thread idea... Names which I've seen mentioned are: Tank Davis Teofimo Lopez Devin Haney Ryan Garcia Manny Pacquiao Josh Taylor
Lopez or Davis. I voted Lopez as it seems the easiest to make. Haney and Garcia haven't done enough, Taylor and Pacquiao are too big (I think Loma is already a weight too high honestly).
Definitely definitely Miguel Berchelt. Loved the fights I watched last night, @Chuck Norris gave me a damn fine list.
Pacquiao is not too big for Loma. Pacquiao is just 5'5" and 67cm reach. Loma is 5'7" and 65.05 cm. Pacquiao is not a natural welterweight. He is even smaller than all of the active junior welterweight.
To me the only real option is Lopez. Tank and Garcia need to fight each other. Devin Haney I wouldn't mind seeing fight the winner of Loma/Lopez Manny is a WW and shouldn't even be considered an option Josh Taylor is a JWW, needs to fight Ramirez and shouldn't even be considered an option
Pac at 140 or 138. I think they're very similar in size. Pac would be fighting at LW still if it were not for ODLH.
My guess (and hope) is that it will be Lopez. Whether Lopez has the requisite patience (he'll miss more often than he ever has in his professional career) and ring acumen to deliver a fight altering punch is the great variable in this fight, as I see no way in which he outboxes Lomachenko over 12. I suspect that he doesn't and the Ukrainian outpoints the young lion to a 116-112 type decison.
His main goal was to have all the belts and unify the lightweight division and to do that he needs to fight Lopez and get the last belt he needs. So i would say Lopez next then he should drop down to 130 cause i think its his best weight and fight the underrated Berchelt. I think he should only stay at 135 if that means a big fight with Davis is next after Lopez otherwise move down to 130.
It's gotta be Teo and only him. Lopez earned his shot, is a skilled and murderous punching youngster, and it makes the most intriguing matchup. I don't see him ever facing Pac, why would he fight someone who is without a doubt juiced to the gills while he's clean? Its his life and career. He and Pac should fight if you took Pac off the sauce, nevermind because then he would be an emaciated straw weight
Pacquaio. He would be the best name on his resume by far, alongside the biggest money fight for him, and a possible legend's scalp in an interesting and hyped fight. That he turned it down as 'Pacquaio wont give me anything [for my legacy]' was a really bad look. I would understand why, if he said about size and weight divisions, but saying Pac doesn't add to his resume is extremely crass and disrespectful - and flat out wrong.
