Who would you consider the best inside fighter among the big heavyweights? By big, i mean guys who were 6'5 and over 230 lbs. The likes of Lewis, Vitali, Wladamir, Fury, Joshua, etc. I would pick Riddick Bowe personally. His in fighting was remarkable. Hooks, uppercuts, willingness to trade This content is protected
I believe so. Really, it's not much of a contest. Few really large heavies are good heavies, so Bowe is really an easy pick.
Golota was pretty darn good at it. Doesn't come to mind immediately because he's underrated and remembered more for his poor showings.
Why ask this question when every single poster is going to say Bowe? It was kind of like a mantra back in the day repeated by the boxing community ad nauseum. Some other questions I suggest we do away with due to ease of answering: Of all the 80s heavyweights, who had the best jab? Who was the best cruiserweight to move up and win a heavyweight title? Who was Panama's greatest fighter? Do you think Whitaker was robbed against Chavez? Name an Olympic gold medlist that went on to have success in the pros. Which heavyweight champ had the best looping right hand called "Suzie Q?"
Jesus I knew most people were going to say Bowe, i was just curious as to what people thought about the infighting ability of the other giants like Vitali or Lewis.
Bowe for me too. Lewis ,could be effective if he could get away with holding his opponents head and deliver uppercuts.
I know Jack Johnson doesn't fit the parameters but relative to the fighters he faced he was quite often the rangier man. He was an excellent defensive fighter.
