How does anyone not understand that Usyk is going to do great at heavy?

I need to see more.

WBSS is impressive but we know Usyk is a pressure fighter who expend a lot of energy, 12 rounds is very different than 6 when fighting a big guy.

My concerns are his style being suited to fighting guys near your own weight and I think it's a young man's style

Time will tell but im not sure on him either way.

 

i want him to do well. However, he is already 33.

I hope he can fight for the title in the next 1-2 years.

 

Really like usyk but have always said think his size will be a problem for him with the top guy's. Not knocking his abilities great all round fighter, size does matter tho

 

Why do people think he needs to be champion to succeed at heavyweight ? That’s like saying no one should be a heavyweight if they can’t be the champion. Makes no sense , Usyk would outbox Wilder easily and defeat him ,last time I checked he doesn’t have the belt and most now don’t think he gets the title back ,that’s called a double standard,there’s no one Wilder defeated that Usyk couldn’t . If he can gather a few impressive wins that’s succeeding like everyone else, he’s also pursuing AJ for his legacy ,a certain former champion ran away from it.

 

I just like watching his skills and I like his ethos. Even if he doesn't prevail if he fights the HW elites its going to be great to watch.

 

Get what you're saying but the only thing I see letting him down would be power if I'm honest but usyk has always been hard to hit. Probably even harder for a proper heavy but when it does land gonna hurt for sure, you are right tho usyk is great to watch his movement is next level great fighter

 

He didn't even do that good at cruiserweight to be honest.

 

Uh, yeah, no offense to you neither or nothin but like I don't think much of these cruisers he beat and I thought some of the fights were way close with dudes that just weren't anything near great and I have no idea why people think a lot of his chances moving up like he was just destroying all these top prime guys and far as I'm concerned, nah son. I think he's crazy overrated. So, I don't think he did that well except on paper which sure he did great on paper. But paper don't break jaws. Fists do that. Big, heavy, heavyweight fists on heavyweight chins. He's a good athelete but this is the big leagues we're talkin about and he wasn't very good against Witherspoon either when he moved up. He's very mobile but he waste tons of energy and I don't see it. It's gonna take a lot of that energy out of him when he's against a top big dude like Joshua. I think he picked a bad move and shoulda just stayed a big fish in a little puddle that got washed up in there by the rain. Peace.

With both of them being DAZN fighters, I think that is a match we will see soon for sure. At 33, Hearn knows that Uysk probably has a fairly small window. He relies so on his legs and has had such a long amauter career.

 

I don’t see how he can beat Fury. And he’ll struggle to stay upright for 12 rounds against Wilder and Joshua. He can beat the rest.

 

I agree, Cruiser is like the hipsters division, but I don't think in decades to come they will be waxing lyrical about Gassiev, Bellew and Bredis. That cruiser stuff doesn't matter, Usyk will be judged on if he can beat the best at heavyweight.

 

I think its because he has been hyped (rightly or wrongly) as the heavyweight Lomachenko, the next best thing, etc. Its understandable that some are going to take the polar opposite opinion simply because of this enthusiasm until he proves himself. Even if he smashes Wilder with a single straight rear hand, out boxes Fury, takes AJ toe to toe and outhooks Dillian Whyte - there will be people still say its only because of a weak division and that the 70's HW would wipe the floor with him.
