Archie Moore should be on the list, so I figured some others might be missing.
Henry Armstrong and Archie Moore were not born in St Louis but they learned to fight here. I would also add Carl Daniels and Lemuel Steeples. Both were outstanding amauter fighters. Had Steeples not been killed, he would have certainly been a successful pro.
Terron Millet is another guy I don't see in the list. He was a solid fighter. He could really crack! Art Jimerson was a good fighter as well.
I'm from St Louis. I grew up boxing at South Broadway athletic club as a kid in the 80's. STL has a very rich boxing history
Definitely a warrior. His 1st fight with Ali and his fight with Jesse Burnett are some of my favorites. The Lopez draw was good too. I just found out today that there was a fourth Spinks fighter. Cory's older brother Darrell was a light heavy in the 90s to early 2000s; I'll have to check him out sometime.
Eddie Cook was a very hard punching southpaw. Marco Antonio Barrera fought a beautiful fight against him.
He never had a chance to turn pro, but I remember Lemuel Steeples being a hot prospect when amateur boxing used to be televised regularly. He was on the team who's plane went down in Poland in 1980.
