You obviously haven't seen some of the Boxing scene 'scorecards'.

I don't understand the content of this post.

Are you suggesting I should have used ten point must?

Or I should have offered annotations alongside my scoring?

I worry not my man. Just wondering if the etiquette of this thread changed from when I last frequented it.

I don't know. Most of us who post here regularly do usually post a points tally as well as a RBR points breakdown and usually add comments for most rounds (though not always as I will shortly demonstrate...)

    Carl Froch v Jean Pascal

Froch takes the step up to world level and passes the test with flying colours in this battle of unbeaten fighters.

The first 9 rounds were nip and tuck before Froch took over clearly in the final quarter by out working Pascal. Lots of swinging and missing but plenty of hard shots landed and some good exchanges as well.

    1 10-9 (good opener)
    2 10-9 (good action again)
3 9-10 (bit scrappy at points but entertaining)
    4 10-9
    5 9-10
    6 10-9
    7 10-9
    8 9-10
    9 9-10 (close)
    10 10-9
    11 10-9
    12 10-9

    Froch 116-112 Pascal

    Danny Garcia UD12 Erik Morales

Morales came in a little over, no ****s given. Garcia, clearly out to oustpeed Morales in the first, evidenced by the left hook to the body, right hand over the top, a gorgeous combination. Morales tries to rush him to the ropes at one point, but he lacks the zap. Not much in it in the first, but the young man clearly takes it. I think Morales jabs and parries his way to round two though. These worlds collide in the third and fourth; Garcia clearly scoops the third, out-landing Morales and probably even hurting him a bit down the stretch. It's a clear escalation; in the fourth i prefer the Morales jab, but that is arguable.

Morales probably edges the fifth, playing key-moment and dominating them but Danny out-works him in the sixth. There's some good bodywork in there. I like that Danny hasn't allowed himself to be rushed. He's stuck to his own personal pacing opinion and it's eventually put him in charge here in the sixth. He hasn't rushed himself, rather he's let it happen naturally.

This fight is weird though. Garcia seems on the cusp of taking over all the time but then Morales earns himself some space with some clever boxing, but you feel Garcia could just thug it. Danny doesn't feel that way though; fair enough. The pacing doesn't seem right - seems like Garcia should fight faster. I have him ahead after eight though.

In the end, what happens here is that Garcia out-waits him, Erik's age tells and Garcia, working at a steady pace, picking it up in a big way in the eleventh and scoring a pretty left hook KD, just to see it home. No question Garcia won this fight.

    116-111.

    Danny:1,3,6,7,8,9,11*,12.
    Morales:2,4,5,10.

    *Morales down.

One of Nelson's signature wins here (although imo not one of his best). Gomez was an ATG sure, but for this he was old, overweight and didn't have the aura that he did years earlier.

Me and Lachlan has an argument regarding a 'prime' Gomez vs Nelson, and he said Gomez would win. I just can't see it, Gomez just wasn't a good enough FW to do stuff like that. It's was an Absolutely dissecting here, complete piecing. Clinic. Nelson out-fought, out-boxed, and brutally stopped Gomez in this one. Some good toe-to-toe action in the mid-late rounds.

At the start of the broadcast there's a bracket missing on the overlay. ****ing disgrace. Anyway, brutal KO here and an underrated win on Nelson's ledger here.

Good action, admittedly, it was thoroughly dominated by Azumah and his body shots. However, Pat landed some nice body jabs and wasn't afraid of tucking up and trading, however that did get him sparkled soooooooo swings and roundabouts.

Given how much trouble Pat gave Sanchez, and beating Castanon, Seabrooks and Hernandez, this is a tremendous win.

Fun fight, but clearly a separate class in-between them. Not too hard to score either.

@PhillyPhan69 once said, somewhat hesitantly iirc, that Nelson was the most entertaining fighter of his life time. I'm not sure if I'd agree with that, but I'll definitely say that Nelson is a very fun fighter!

Villasana was an elite brawler with an ATG chin, and an old school aptitude for fouling. Nelson showed a good chin, a brilliant jab, fast feet and excruciating combinations. His defence off the ropes is excellent.

I read that after the fight Nelson was asked about Villasana's chin. He shrugged in admiration and said merely, "that's as hard as I can punch."

I think Nelson from the Sanchez fight could beat FW Gomez.

How, how, how can you write all that but skip over the hilarious moment when Erik clowns/mocks Danny for throwing some really ugly reaching type punches? Did you really watch this fight?
