I'll try to make this easy for you.

Use whatever criteria you want, ranking whoever you want.

Hell we'll call it "Loudon's top ten SMW list"

There need be no restrictions, list who you want and let's see if Froch makes the cut.

It's strange as well because it was Americans who really got the division going!

Get back to me when you’ve figured out whether or not your former no.4 ranked fighter stays or goes.

Let's try to calm you down and remove your emotions from the situation now.

Rank whoever and however you like and see if Froch makes the cut.

    Here watch this :

If I include anyone since the inception of this division my list probably goes: Jones, Toney, Ward, Froch, Calzaghe, Kessler, Eubank, Benn, Ottke, Beyer, Mitchell, Liles

If I only include those who I fell where as their very best at SMW: Ward, Froch, Calzaghe, Kessler, Eubank, Benn, Ottke, Beyer

If I include those who've ever competed in and around 168: Jones, Charles, Langford, Burley, Moore, Conn, Fitzsimmons, Toney, Tiger, Bivins

Now you try and produce a list, again you can rank whoever you like.

Byron Mitchell and Frank Liles deserve a shout. After that it's really think. Michael Nunn at a push, Tim Little.

Jeff Lacy might crack an American top ten haha

    It’s not really that strange.

The U.S. had fighters which were, and who could have been, some very good SMW’s. But they either just stayed there for a brief period or they bypassed it altogether.

The following guys just passed through:

    Roy
    Toney
    Nunn
    Liles
    Barkley

Gerald McClellan obviously had his tragic fight with Benn. Otherwise he’d have remained in the division for longer.

Guys like Reggie Johnson and Bernard Hopkins bypassed it completely.

A division which contained those 8 guys for a prolonged period would have had a huge impact on the history of it.

Taking those out is nonsensical and frees up two more spaces.

    Is that not obvious?

Without those two fighters, Froch is in without a shadow of a doubt.

With those 2 included, it obviously becomes harder to place him there.

That is the point I was obviously making.

These are the guys competing with each other, based on both resume and H2H ability:

    Roy
    Toney
    Liles
    Ward
    Ottke
    Benn
    Calzaghe
    Eubank
    Kessler
    Froch
    Collins
    Watson

That’s 12 fighters with some good fighters not included.

Personally, I could put Froch on there. But there may be others that can’t.

    You’d have to assume so.

    Finally.

I think Froch is clearly superior to Liles, Collins and Watson.

The others I can see an argument for.

    It doesn’t matter does it.

They still have to be on there.

James was a better MW. But he still had amazing ability and beat Barkley and Littles etc.

Roy was 25 and 26, and he breezed by Toney, Malinga, Thornton, Sosa and Lucas etc.

There’s not one guy on that list who was better than what Roy was when he beat Toney at 25.

It doesn’t matter if you think that he did his best work at LHW. That’s cool. No problem. But he still has to be rated somewhere on a best of all time SMW list.

Leaving him and Toney out just makes a complete mockery of it.
