Joshua needs to make a statement. Ruiz II was only a bandaid

Ruiz would be Wilders best win . We wouldn’t even be talking about Wilder if Wilder had taking any Klitschko fight from either one at any time because he’d never have got a belt or defended a title and that would put all the pressure on Fury because there would have been no Wilder to jump to .

 

My gripe with the bodybuilder's win, was the fact that Ruiz was walking him right down in the last 2 rounds. In contrast of when Tua fought Lewis, by the last few rounds he was tentative going forward because he was visibly hurt. Ruiz was just too slow, to catch up. I could accept a points win, if Joshua had at some stage threw some meaningful punches that shown there was some contact that either dropped Andy or a least made him back up. But Joshua threw a lot of tappy punches. He should have followed up when he hit that bomb in the 12th, not jog away.

 

Joshua is on borrowed time now

He showed he can't fight in America, he has no chin, no heart and will quit when it gets tough.

Ruiz gave him a gift by not training and coming in at 300lbs allowing the frightened Joshua to tap him for 12 rounds. But he won't get that lucky many more times.

With him having ZERO punch resistance he will have to become a runner, but the problem is he's too stiff, and will get hunted down and pulverised by anyone more mobile than a 300lb obese mexican

 

What a ridiculous thread. Joshua has a MUCH better resume than Wilder, and it's not even remotely close. Ruiz, Povetkin, Wlad, Takam, Parker and Whyte are all better than ANYONE Wilder has beaten.

FFS, Martin would be a top 5 win for Wilder. That's how bad his resume is.

 

Joshua is a good, maybe very good, champion. No-one ever pretended he was a great one. He's doing just fine.

His chin is more than good enough to make the Fury fight very interesting.

 

And at least Joshua wasn't knocked down by total bums like Sconiers and Nichols.

 

I don’t think so, because Ruiz is not only extremely durable, but he also thrives when under fire. If Wilder tried to force a knockout on Ruiz he’d get himself stopped just like Joshua did. Its when people make Ruiz use his legs up is when he sucks and is very beatable.

Darnell Wilson can hit every bit as hard as Wilder and he faceplanted Ruiz at Goossen’s only for Ruiz to get back up and continue sparring like nothing happened. I’ve also seen Arreola drop Ruiz with an extremely hard left hook and Ruiz got up and shaked it off.

Wilder’s big right hand simply won’t be enough to knockout Ruiz. His best bet would be to circle Ruiz and rack up points for the win like he did against Stiverne when he won the WBC title.

Kevin Barry, who used to train Ruiz had Parker mostly run and rack up points for a reason, since he knew how durable Ruiz was.

I can't see Wilder having the skill to use Joshua's gameplan against Ruiz.

 

Read the OP again. This thread is not about the strength of resume for Wilder or Joshua. Joshua has a better resume, but his best opposition, by far, is a 41 year old Wlad well removed from his prime. This is about their CURRENT position within the division. In facing Fury twice, Wilder has FACED a higher level of opponent than Joshua. Getting beat down by Fury is a significantly better look than getting beat down by Ruiz.

Consensus opinion seems to be that Wilder is a shattered fighter. This thread is about how we don't know that Joshua isn't as well. He got beat down and looked much more like he wanted out than Wilder ever did. If Joshua wants to be "back" he needs to put on a show against Pulev.

 

I think in terms of ability and resume it’s fair to say Joshua is number 2, I think he’s got more skill than wilder and whyte and the likes. Fancy fury to beat him on points 117-111 type job
