Brook is more proven P4P than Dubois, could you imagine if thee was a heavyweight with GGG`s prowess fighting Dubois?
Spence got caught a lot by Brooke early on before taking over with his jab, Brook is underrated compared to Khan and may have knocked him out in his prime.
one clean punch! lol, Eubank was landing some clean counters early on but it was a pretty tame fight compared to the rematch.
He looked far worse v McCallum, he landed more on Eubank and wasn`t hit even nearly as much McCallum landed almost at will to the body which made Watson gas.
Why didn`t he fight him then?Just because he beat Tzsyu does not mean he beats Witter.Different styles completely
He looked far worse? Eh? He was extremely rusty yes so wasn't as sharp as he was going into the Eubank first fight. He landed A LOT more right hands on McCallum than he did Eubank, in the first five of both. McCallum described it as the most brutal fight of his career, a back and forth war.
All hatton really needs is that win to trump witter tbh. What was witters best win? He never beat anyone of that calibre as tyzsu in his career.
I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say Witter would have beaten Hatton but it was plainly obvious to anyone concerned that Ricky wanted no part of him. I get Witter in the UK wasn't a Mayweather or Pacquaio fight but Castillo was shot and Urango was a nobody really. Hatton v Witter would have been massive over here and there was a perfect opportunity to do it post-Floyd but Ricky went for another nobody in Lazcano when Witter was WBC champion. I took from that that whilst Hatton had excuses for chasing the very biggest fights there were times when the biggest fight for him probably would have been Witter and I think he didn't fancy his chances massively.
Never said he did just feel Witters style was all wrong for Ricky.Think Ricky thought that too hence the reason the fight never happened
Think ricky spoke about it before...witters style wasn,t pleasing to the eye. He liked to frustrate opponents. For a guy like hatton who was becoming a fan favourite building a good fan base because his fights we,re entertaining...the last thing you,d want to do is fight a guy like witter...to slow down the momentum that was building. Thats the real reason the fight didnt happen which makes perfect sense tbh. Witter had an oppertunity against zab judah and completely spoiled the fight with his negativity...judah himself came out looking bad that fight as well. Every time witter really stepped up he failed to take the oppertunity...judah, alexander and bradley. All at home i,m sure as well. Nothing in his career suggests he,d have beaten hatton. What he would have done is frustrated hatton tho...spoiled the fight with his tactics...and make hatton look bad in a poor fight for the viewers. Someone in rickys position didnt need that. Would have probably been bad promoting. Again tho...nothing in witters whole career pointed to him beating hatton. Who was witters best win...hatton had 6 or 7 better ones. Its just that witter provdd to be s spoiler at the highest level and one to be avoided unless there was something to be gained. I.e a belt.
