Debating my top ten CW list

Well you created this thread specifically to debate your choices, so debate them! What did Haye do in concrete terms to substantiate the vast amounts of hype people invested in him? And what did he demonstrate at CW to have you rate him so highly? Let's have a bit more of a detailed and reasoned breakdown for your opinion, as I'm genuinely interested in why you've got him so high. How do you rate his resume for starters? And which fighters would you pick him to beat on a H2H basis?

Spinks was 25 and something like 8 fights in when he beat Ali. Usyk is already 17 fights in and 33 years old, and has already cleaned out the division. But fair enough if that's your criterion.

Why did you rate Huck though? He's still active.

 

And if you want a cure for overhyped divas that never fight each other go and actually watch the cruiserweight division. Haha.

 

Your criteria is bizarre.

Usyk has now officially moved out of the division and up to HW. So it appears as though his CW career is over and that he won’t be returning. So you can rate Usyk at the weight.

Also, you’ve rated Toney here, despite telling me just 2 days ago, that you only listed guys at one weight only.

You’ve also rated Evander. So if you’ve rated Evander at HW, which I’m sure you will have at some point, it’s just makes a complete mockery of what you’ve said.

Leon had a few low level wins before he beat an ageing Ali. We all know that Ali shouldn’t have been fighting at that stage. And if he’d have been fighting today, he’d never have been granted a license at that point. He then lost the rematch, before being knocked out by Coetzee in a single round. He then had a few more low level wins before he lost to Holmes.

Apart from beating Ali, he lost to every top level fighter he faced. So I don’t know what you mean when you say he went from an unbeaten HW champ to a journeyman.

If he hadn’t have beaten an ageing Ali, he’d never have had a top level win in his entire career.

Your reasoning in these types of debates is utterly bizarre.

 

He’s ranked Toney here, despite telling us both the other day, that he only ranks guys in one weight class only. That was his justification for leaving Roy Jones out of his top 10 SMW list.

Hold on.... you pick him over Usyk, Gomez Qawi, Toney or Briedis?

 

Toney can be ranked in the top 20 on H2H ability.

 

Actually, I don't hope so. He's injury ridden, inactive and didn't look too good againsnt a tragic opponent at HW. I'd have liked him to beat Makabu and Dorticos before moving up, but what can you do, eh?
