At cruiser. If the best HW version of Johnson fought the best 187-190 pound Holyfield, who would prevail.
Great fan of Harold but I've got to back Holyfield here. "Good big'un beats the good little'un" and all that jazz. Johnson was one very impressive physical specimen and could beat guys while spotting them 15, or even 20 lb in weight - but not guys of Evander's class. Harold was a fantastic 175 pounder and that's where he peaked, whereas Holyfield was a fantastic 190 pounder with the added advantage of being quicker than Johnson. People forget how fast Holyfield was as a Cruiser. I think it'd be a very high-class, technical fight but Evander's speed, size and equally fantastic skills are the reassuring factors, for me. Holyfield by decision, possibly late stoppage.
As a huge Holyfield fan Holyfield was too green at cruiserweight for a seasoned vet like Harold Johnson. Holyfield at heavyweight by the early to mid 90’s would be more of an even matchup.
