OK so I rank mainly on H2H, although that doesn't strictly mean the eye test, resume has to be considered so we know the level at which a fighter is performing.

I only include fighters I've watched fight, and I tend not to include active fighters as their placing is too dynamic.

    So here's my SMW list

    Rank First Last
    1 Roy Jones Jr
    2 James Toney
    3 Andre Ward
    4 Carl Froch
    5 Joe Calzaghe
    6 Mikel Kessler
    7 Nigel Benn
    8 Chris Eubank
    9 Sven Ottke
    10 Byron Mitchell

Are there any people you feel should be in that aren't? Any orders that need changing?

Interesting choice putting Chong Pal Park at 9. Good job.

I don't care if they're super middleweights or not, they're just middleweights.

Can’t see Froch above Calzaghe or even Ward above Calzaghe. Jones is the best but it was a brief stint. Maybe it’s just me but I find Ward vastly overrated.

I think Ward is a clear level above Calzaghe tbh.

Regarding Froch I'm one of the few who thinks Froch would have beaten him.

But as always, when I post these lists, in open for debata and open to have my mind changed.

Using only the names you’ve listed, I would have them in this order:

    Jones Jr.
    Calzaghe
    Ward
    Toney
    Froch
    Eubank
    Benn
    Kessler
    Ottke
    Mitchell

Toney and Ward are hard to separate for me and are nearly interchangeable. I plead ignorance on the last two; I was never moved to give them a look in two decades of following boxing.

H2h, I'd rank Liles ahead of Mitchell and Ottke.

    1. Watson
    2. Toney
    3. Jones
    4. Eubank
    5. Calzaghe
    6. Benn
    7. Ward
    8. Rocchigiani
    10. Nunn/Liles

Froch and Park aren't near that class. Flat-footed fighters Kessler and Holmes beat them clearly for a start.
