Show me what elite fighter Floyd beat on the front-foot. It didn't happen. Floyd's offence might be more dynamic (something I'd definitely agree with) but it's not better than De La Hoya's. De La Hoya's power, alone, makes it more potent, Oscar was a better finisher, more confident puncher and actually stopped elite fighters. Floyd never did. In fact, Floyd's best offensive display was against a fighter who Oscar had already stopped years earlier, and Oscar did it quicker. The very common mistake you're making here is that Floyd is better at everything than anyone. He isn't.
He threw fast combos flatfooted like Gary Russell Russell Jr. That's useless against a fighter like Mayweather.
I actually think Floyd isn't on Ross's level tbh but even if he was Ross has a style advantage imo and will outjab Floyd and land those short sharp hooks when Floyd is backed up. Plus Ross can fight like that all day. I don't think Floyd is quick enough to beat Locche and provides nowhere near the pressure required to beat him. Locche can potshot with Floyd all night imo. I'm rewatching some older fighters so will delay judgement until then.
He did it by pinning Oscar's right hand with his out stretched left hand causing oscar to hesitate. Then landing his own right. That's why Oscar abandoned his jab. Not because of fatigue.
I did something to what you're doing now awhile back where I went on a massive lower weight binge. At LW I back to back watched every Floyd title defence below 140, and as much Ross footage as I could get a hold of. I figured Floyd was the better, sharper, quicker boxer and I don't think Ross does have a style advantage. De La Hoya's success came from his fast hands, long reach and just, all in all, being much bigger. Ross may have these tools (of course his jab gives everyone issues) to trouble Floyd, but I don't think he has the speed and reach to consistently jab Floyd without eating counters like Oscar did. I do think Ross was greater, but I do think Floyd was better. As for Locche, I always figured he just wasn't active enough. Around 10-20 Decisions of his could well be losses, simply based on him not doing anything. I think Floyd is better at pot-shotting, and wins based on doing it more. I love the LWs, there's so much to take in and so many ATGs which fly under the radar. How do you think Floyd vs Carlos Ortiz goes down bro?
I'm in awe at Ross tbh, think he was so technically sound. Locche looks amazing as well tbh, I can't see an inactive guy like Floyd beating him and Floyd is way out of his comfort zone being the aggressor. Locche is the kind of guy who is happy winning a round with one clean punch. Night mare for Floyd imo. Ortiz is another level imo and he proved it against everyone he faces. The fight with Floyd will be close and there's no knockouts, but you can't take Ortizs jab away, it isn't possible imo. So that negates a lot of Floyd's gameplan from the off. He won't be able to pull counter the jab, I don't see him beating Ortiz to the jab. What can he do against Ortiz realistically? Tbf I haven't watched any Floyd for a while so when I get back upto him I may change my mind.
Nah imo his best offensive display was against chico but that's arguable Power is overrated how many times do i have to tell people that. Oscar had power in one hand with one punch his left hook. That punch is easily taken away by someone like pbf and is largely irrelevant. How many times did oscar hit him with that punch when they fought? Oscar's offense is much easier to shut down than pbfs. How many elite fighters did Oscar stop? Pbf isnt better than oscar in everything i agree but oscar's offense isn't as complete nor is it better..
Excellent point he did exactly that. He took away his jab it wasn't because oscar stopped throwing it thats wishful thinking trying to take away what pbf did. Oscar was a veteran he's not going to stop throwing his best punch in the biggest fight of his career.
Oscar is dumb he could have asked Hopkins to come down further in weight for the massive payday to enhance his chances. It’s not because he had cojones he just miscalculated. He asked Hopkins to come down to 157. He does not deserve respect he is just dumb. If he wanted respect then he could have made the fight at 160 the middleweight limit like he did with Sturm but he is a hypocrite just like you.
Oscar is a dumb. If he had balls of steel the chicken won’t have run like a girl against Tito Trinidad in the champion rounds. The Golden Girl ran for a reason.
Better contact your hero Oscar for LSD as we know Oscar likes to indulge in narcotics from time to time and if you are interested in a bit of alternative he is in into that as well.
Just stating facts that the only thing Oscar did better than Shane was in their choices of wife. Millie is a better person than Jin but Oscar screwed that up as well the punk.
You cannot be a hardcore Floyd fan and say that he ran the final three rounds of the Tito fight, seriously..
