I think Hide before the Riddick Bowe loss wins thereafter Ruiz because Hide became fragile afterwards.

Ruiz looked far better in those highlight clips than Hide did, his punches were more fluid, but Hide`s stick and run tactics would cause Ruiz problems the same way he couldn`t catch up with Jones difference was Jones was better than Hide, I think Ruiz would have stopped him in a close fight.

Ruiz can be blitzed by Hide but he wins if still there mid rounds.

I’m going with Herbie... he would have been too much for ruiz... with his fast hands and reflexes, could crack a bit as well. Bowe said he was the hardest puncher he faced.

I think that Herbie's fast hands get the better of Ruiz's mauling style and catches the Thin Man coming in for a clinch.. oops … I mean the Quiet Man :)

Hide wouldn`t be able to take Ruiz`s power either unless he runs, he had a cruiser chin.

Hide was not on Ruiz's level overall but could catch him cold.

Yeah he wasn't on the level of that glorified clubfighter all right - Hide was light-years more talented. He'd destroy that cheater before he had the chance to employ any of his illegal excessive holding, or before King's judges could get him another gift decision like he did in the Golata fight

I don't rule it out but for me Hide gets stopped late. Ruiz faced every name not called Klit in late 90's and 00s. Hide was basically over after Vitali.

Sure, he faced them, but he also CHEATED against virtually all of them in one way or another. Without the illegal tactics - and King's power and money to get favorable treatment from refs and judges - Ruiz is just another mediocre regional fighter who was starched by David Tua. And in a fair fight, Hide starches him too!
