Unlike most, I rate the current HW era tbh.

But whilst I agree that Dempsey beating Willard and Rocky beating Schkor are not indications that they would be champions today, they are indications that you can't say "x beats Dempsey/Shkor because they are too big"

Again it's the only thing that I'm trying to say. Debate style, debate skills, do not debate size on its own.

Being big alone, as Ive already said wont cut it,being big and of some ability with a world class
    punch is another matter.

Then it seems you are very heatedly agreeing with me then as I agree whole heartedly with every single emboldened word in this post.

I don’t remember Vingo’s reach, but In a couple of articles in the Boston Globe I’ve read Shkor’s reach would vary from 80” to 82”, so his real reach is most likely somewhere in the middle.

You're just trying to dissect everything down to the minute detail. I already know of and heard it before. No one is being "dishonest" simply because they don't share your viewpoint. Point is, he was knocked cold whether he was out for 60 or 180 seconds.

Abe Simon would have laid flat a 1989 Tyson, which Bruno failed to do.

Tyson would have both times, but Bruno couldn`t take his power, Tyson was ahead on the scorecards in both fights and completely dominated Frank in the rematch.

Tyson was pretty bad in that bout.

Marciano makes your top 1. He is in a category all his own. Your super duper ATG heavies.

Depends what you mean by a top level puncher?

Do you give credit to big limited punchers, who knocked over a lot of tomato cans, or less powerful but more methodical punchers, who were stopping top ten opponents?

Bruno had power for sure, but was he really an all time puncher?

I think Bruno's power would compare pretty favourably with just about anyone's,that in my book, makes him eligible to be described as a top level puncher.

I am not sure that it does though.

If he is not translating his power, into stopping genuinely elite fighters, then I would not be too worried for Marciano!

Marciano is no Bill Sharkey. It's difficult to punch downwards and impossible when a shorter guy gets inside. Marciano also never gives you a breather and we know Frank's stamina was a weakness.
Actually an interesting fight. Bruno might just blast little Rocky out but if they're still fighting in the 6th, Frank's got trouble.
