And the WBO are ready to insist Joshua takes on the winner of Oleksandr Usyk's fight with Dereck Chisora. Thoughts on this? Is the big fight in danger? https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/anthony-joshua-tyson-fury-suffer-22174036
**** the WBO As much as I hate paper champs I'd hate a mandatory fight to block such a huge fight Maybe chisora can pull it off and allow the unification to go forward
This. Either they work things out with the WBO and Usyk or Joshua gets stripped. I doubt they would cancel their plans just to keep the WBO belt. Too much money to be made. And no, the interim WBO belt should not be handed out to anyone.
I said back along, Joshua needs to vacate a title if he wants to make a fight with the Wbc champion. The loss to Ruiz last year, and his other mandatory commitments mean they won't wait for him. I can't see anyone holding all the world titles at the same. Question is, how lucrative a fight with Joshua is, now he's lost and potentially just hold 2 world titles if he's stripped by Who.
People might be harder to buy off now that Ruiz toppled Joshua. Every decent fighter knows they have a real shot. And they make more money as HW champion than taking step aside.
I don`t think AJ will want to send his kids to an elitist university like Oxford, they are not fond of black people there and the univercity would be sobby about AJ`s working class background.
