The restricted version of Joe Louis was the exact same thing. A big muscular slow guy who could be beaten to the draw and outworked.
Old Louis had only his left jab, there is no similarity between him and Bruno. At 214, 10lbs over his best weight then 37 years old Louis was still 20lbs lighter than Bruno, an inch and a half shorter, and several inches shorter in reach.
He wasn't looking for one. He could take the title himself. The question is why the promoters who wanted to take the title off him, did not seek out such a fighter.
He beat a 37 years old veteran who had needed 5 attempts to win the title. How many six feet three 240lbs top level punchers with a booming jab were about in the 50's? Name Two! The question is why haven't promoters looked for another 185lbs 5 feet ten guy to take the title since Marciano retired ?
As I have explained previously, it would not been difficult to manufacture this kind of fighter in the 50s, if there was any benefit to doing so. Nobody bothered because they didn't think that it would be a good use of time and resources. Because such a fighter would not be allowed to fight at heavyweight? Kind of makes everything else moot!
Bruno couldn’t Even make effective use of his jab on Tyson could he? It was defunct. 51’ Louis would not have done better but he would have landed more jabs. Frank did outbox Lewis but the required concentration effectively exhausted him in a shorter number of rounds to project his potency at world level beyond anything a 51’ version of Joe Louis could Also achieve. Bruno was extremely fortunate to survive the last two rounds against an entirely inept Oliver McCall. Again, Old Joe could and would match this. Oliver sucked.
You never answer a question do you? You go around and around like a wolf circling bait in a trap. Then you project your own made up conclusion onto the subject, a conclusion unsupported by any fact whatsoever. What evidence have you that nobody bothered to look fora6foot 3 inch power puncher with a booming jab? What evidence have you to offer that any manager would not have welcomed such a prospect with open arms? Absolutely NONE!
Just like Tucker,Bonecrusher Smith,Tilis,Thomas did not see second round with Tyson and even then they were not Joe Louis?
