Mayweather was asked to compare himself to Ali and predictably put himself top of the pile and criticised Ali's record.
And of Ali, he added: "Ali, only one weight class and really lost to Ken Norton three times.
From the five boxers he was presented with, Mayweather ranked himself as No.1 followed by Roberto Duran, Pernell Whitaker, Julio Cesar Chavez and Ali.
How does Floyd compare to these legends?

Great fighter but not a particularly likable person.

He beat Kenny once on fair cards in the second fight when he was motivated quite decisively for me and you (Not i) can make an argument for the third fight so far from his best days...

Where is the shame in Ali staying at heavyweight? Would Floyd have respected Muhammad more if he went down a weight class and butchered light heavyweights for giggles? Look what he did to arguably the H2H best light heavyweight...

Bob Foster got ko'd by Ernie Terrell and Bob Hazelton, Bob Foster was probably the least successful boxer at heavyweight who moved up to heavyweight from a lower weight

The 2nd Norton fight was close. Not a robbery. Could have gone either way. That is actually the only close fight they had.

Floyd Mayweather is entitled to his own opinion as we are entitled to ours of what kind of individual he is, which to me is not favorable, but as a fighter he was very talented. I do think that Muhammad Ali was a great champion and a man, who had great courage to stand up for what he believed, giving up millions of dollars, losing his peak years and possibly going to prison to stand up against an unjust war. A true inspiration and example of what a great human being is.

and Floyd really lost to Maidana twice and Castillo. He can't compare to the likes of Ali, Duran, Chavez when talking greatness.

everyone has different criterias to what is great. I think fighting the best when they are the best means a lot. Floyd thinks undefeated means the most.

Tbf he's spot on with what he says.

You have to remember, the vast majority of us here are armchair fans, we watch the fights and spout our opinions.

He's dedicated his life to this sport. As he says, he isn't dedicating his life to a sport just to say someone else is better.

I don't agree with him but I respect his attitude.

Floyd is the best ever. He'd whip GGG and Usyk in the same night. 50-0 never been beat.

Back to reality. Ali is in the top 20 fighters of all-time. Perhaps even the top 10. Floyd isn't even in the top 30.
