No, I am asking how Louis would not see 2nd round when those worse fighters went distance? If they all went distance how Louis would be stopped so easy?
He was washed, but he was much better than them even then as older fighter! He was better than Smith who was nothing special and started late and still went distance!
I am not saying that somebody didn't. If you want such a fighter, you could find one in any era. If such a fighter is all that it would have taken to lift the title, then there would have been a major push to find such a fighter, and it would not have been long before one was found.
Bruno won the title for a couple of reasons. He learned from his mistakes, and paced himself a bit better. He got McCall at the right time.
Joe Louis never declined below the level of the Jose Ribalta, Mitch Green or James Tillis that Tyson fought. I say 51 Louis could do as well as Bruno.
I think Rocky wins. If Bruno was a title defence, Rocky would decide how much he needs to weigh, but ultimately he kncos him out. They weren't in the same league. And I'm the biggest Bruno fan this board will ever see.
He won the title with his assets, power, jab, and size. If he had been 5 feet ten and 185lbs he wouldn't have done so.
How much could Rocky have weighed in the 50's and still retained his conditioning and stamina? 190/192/195lbs?
I don't know, I'll leave that up to him to decide. But if Bruno was transported in a time machine weighing what he weighed, being as tall as he was, I'm sure Rocky and his team would plan accordingly. Either way, if Rocky was to defend his title against Frank, I've no doubt in my mind he'd do so successfully.
