Of course he's a great man, but he's certainly not the best ever SMW.

Plus Eubank beat him that night.

It was a genuine miracle. The way Watson fought that night, Eubank as extremely good as he was couldn't even live with him! Notice that when Eubank gets up, he suddenly has all his freshness and energy back after being completely and totally spent - that's physically impossible. It was supernatural. Watson himself I believe was supernatural that night, the way he fought.

That's why it's arguably one of the greatest fights ever, because nothing like that has ever occurred before either on film or in fight reports.

Anyone with sense would also put Nunn, McClellan and McCallum up there in the top four or five at 'SMW' based on 'H2H'

Yes they would. He looked as good as ever in the fights he took at the weight, and the fact the heavier guys would naturally be slower gives him more countering opportunities to the body, slowing them down til he suffocates them late.

I don't find it funny, one man nearly lost his life. There's no other way to explain what we saw than to say there were supernatural forces at work.

He means that Mike never officially fought at SMW.

Theoretically, he could have been a great SMW.

Hopkins and Reggie could have been too.

But you can’t put them in, even on a H2H basis, if they didn’t fight there.

Thats silly. But it’s a discussion for the SMW thread.

He didn’t have any official fights there. Only keep busy fights which were over the MW limit.

He never campaigned as a SMW.

For that reason, we can’t really include him.

We can discuss it on the other thread though.

Yes he did have 'official' fights set, sold and announced at super-middleweight (just as Jones did v Harris and Malinga) that were well-documented in Boxing News at the time when calling out Eubank (as did Jones). Get your facts right.
