Louis would have stomped the living dog**** out of Spinks in his prime (so would the other top 15 ATG heavies).

But by this time he might have been decisioned by Michael.

I think he'd beat any Jack Johnson.

63 seconds. Spinks shows pure terror.

I can see what you mean, but to me none of Spinks' heavyweight performances were anything to really write home about.

Just my opinion: he bopped in and out like a clown and used a profoundly confusing jerky herky style to mix up a nearly-three-years-past-it Holmes. And it's not like he ran away with the first fight, it was still close (last time I watched it I gave it to Spinks by 2 points, but I've had it at a draw more than once).

Jack Johnson in his prime was no joke. He could be a very mean, vicious fighter at times. I can't see Spinks doing much but being overwhelmed within 5.

But that's just me, you're one of my favorite members, and I have a lof of respect for your opinion George.

    You're one of my too!

However, a prime Johnson was held to a 20 round draw vs a guy who could only jab, and was 40lbs lighter. He was also dropped by a MW in Ketchel, I think Spinks would be able to both hurt him and out-box him. I'd pick almost any version of Holmes to beat Jack, too.

Holmes, oh yeah (you could have probably guessed I'd pick him George lol!).

I need to watch some more Johnson clips. I might be a bit underinformed. I just know that what I've seen of Johnson at his best was pretty relentless and mean.

I lean towards Michael Spinks by UD in a tough fight.

I think Spinks could have done as good as Conn did. A 170 pound Spinks hit a lot harder than Conn, so a 200 pound Spinks definitely hit harder, so it's not like Louis could just walk through Spinks punches. And Spinks had ATG boxing skill. Prime Louis KO's him but late.

Man you’re almost as salty about Spinks as Holmes used to be. It’s been 35 years bro, Holmes moved on you can too. Losing TWICE to Spinks didn’t hurt Larry’s great legacy. :D

Based on how well an even more Past it Larry did in the 90’s I’m inclined to think the version that Spinks beat TWICE :) was better than Louis was when he faced Charles.

Louis “this Louis” would see himself on the wrong side of a decision. As others have said he wasn’t sharp anymore. Spinks was quick, awkward, smart and well conditioned, he has more than enough to beat this version of Louis on points.

Now Prime Louis would be charged with Murder after nearly killing Spinks.

It look good enough to catch Spinks and was psitioned well to parry Spinks jab as Louis jabbed.

I don`t think Spinks was more skilled than Connand Louis countered very well v Conn.

Spinks would wreck that version of Louis. Spinks would have befuddled him so much smoke would be coming out of Louis's ears. Im not even sure a prime Louis beats Michael Spinks
