I think Hill outboxes Johnson for the majority of this fight but Marvin eventually lands a bomb that keeps Virgil down. Thoughts?

Johnson by decision is my vote. Hill was the superior boxer but Johnson would have pressured him effectively.

Boxers, jabbers etc are made for Johnson. (If this no punchers like Spinks and no genius like Eddie Mustafa). Marv would beat up Hill like he did with Johnny Davis, Parlov and others

I think Johnson would need a knockout to beat Hill. If he doesn’t get it then Virgil wins on points or late stoppage.

I like Hill on points. He was pretty good at fighting south paws and his jab would carry the fight.

Hill doesn't have the punch or inside game to win this one, for me. Michalczewski proved too robust and aggressive for him, and he didn't attack with the same intensity that a prime Pops did. I think Hill's movement, punch-and-grab tactics and sturdy chin see him go the distance, but I don't think he wins many rounds, if any at all, after the mid-way point.

Johnson by decision having taken over after the early stages, which would have been Hill's. Virgil looking a little bruised and roughed up by the end.

I like Virgil Hill as a classy guy and an always fit fighter but think he was very fortunate to fight in a very weak era .. Johnson would have stopped him ..

Id have to see how Johnson would have dealt with Hills movement- Hill could really move.
12 rounds would favor Hill. 15 Johnson.
