Would Joe Louis and Marciano have taken Foreman`s power a well as Peralta did?

    Peralta fought Foreman in 1970 and Peralta only weight 197 but still manage to take Foreman`s bombs for 10 rounds until losing by a TKO does that indicate that Marciano and Lous could take Foreman`s punches quite well also? Rocky weighed 189 but Louis was heavier, Foreman was only 22 when he fought Peralta and weighed 213.

    It's not about weight, it's about durability and defense. I don't think Marciano woule beat Foreman due to styles, but Louis would likely stop George.

    Peralta`s defense was poor and he too a lot of shots from Foreman, however his scrappy style going backwards helped him.

    I don't think it was poor and as you said, Peralta was good at fighting on backfoot. Besides, Foreman wasn't at his best then yet.

    Foreman destroys both marciano and Louis.
    Rocky=styles and size
    Louis= chin and static feet

    And this had nothing to do with weight

    Foreman was green but Peralta`s defense wa nowhere near as good as Louis`s.

    Louis`s footwork was smarter than Peralta`s. Louis`s balance was better than Peralta`s and Foreman`s.

    Could Louis and Marciano take Foreman’s power? It depends really on how many times Foreman is going to get to hit them. There will be as many blows traveling toward him during that process.

    Foreman was a great fighter. You could NEVER rule him out against anybody because he was so darn strong and hit so very hard. At worst 50-50 with any great heavyweight..

    But I don’t think George would necessarily have taken fights with Louis or Marciano even if he could have. He didn’t like counter punchers. Or strong right hand punchers. He slipped up a couple of times against them.

    Gil Clancy said that George was extremely selective about the opponents he fought. George knew his limitations and that’s genius really.

    Louis could box just fine on backfoot and he wasn't always static. Louis from Max Baer fight is a nightamre for Foreman. He'd counter him to death and he had just as powerful artillery. You can't rule out Foreman knockout, but I don't believe it's likely scenario.

    Stylistically Marciano is not going to fare well against Foreman. Louis probably knocks him out. Leaves himself way to open for Louis.
