It may be weird for a heavyweight making the list, but if fury beats Wilder decisively again he has claim to the throne.
Of course, you do. Tie between Loma and Inoue, as they are cleaning out very good divisions. Leaning towards Loma as it looks like he'll get it done sooner than Inoue. Pacquiao would shoot up if at this age he unified the Welterweight division, as would Terrance if he actually fought any welterweight worth a damn. Until such time though...
Aside from the ultra dubious "loss" to Horn and the super shady fight with Floyd (that was very competitive if you know anything about boxing), Pac's been dominant. Vargas (won 11 rounds) Timothy Bradley Matthysse (won 7 rounds plus TKO) Broner (won 12 rounds) Thurman (8-4 or 9-3)
While I agree that the Horn loss was bull**** (and I've never seen the Floyd/Pac fight because that was years too late and I refuse to give them the satisfaction of the views...even though they both already made their money and Floyd at least doesn't care anymore...) none of those wins outside the Thurman fight really 'wow' me. Bradley and Matthysse were done, and Broner's a punk who doesn't throw punches. The Vargas win was decent, and the Thurman win top class stuff. But it's not quite 'best p4p boxer going today' stuff.
Even with the headbutts and cheating, Horn did not win more than 6 rounds that night. A decent score would have been 116-112 or 117-111 to Pac. Perhaps 115-113 if you want to be kind to Horn. Pacquiao or Usyk is my P4P 1.
Usyk's a good shout; he cleaned out arguably the most stacked Cruiserweight division in its brief history. If he has similar success at heavyweight it would change my vote instantly.
Just wondering, the guys who think pacman was robbed against horn, what are your views on teddy atlas'? He went out of his way to discredit horn on live TV and blatantly cried robbery for Pacquiao. Was he a hero for doing this? Even though he has some shyttie job now at ESPN. He got demoted for standing up for a guy who didn't in his character question the outcome of the fight. Your thoughts?
Usyk has got to be in that mix fully agree, still think the step up in weight might be a high mountain to climb. His ring iq is first class even on the back foot looks like he's going forward most the time always finds that angle. Plus really hard to land on man does have skills very clever boxer imo
Loma in my eyes... Not just in accomplishmente but also skill wise . great counter puncher, defensive fighter , most skilled fighter of this era in my opinion. I can see crawford, usyk. , canelo inoue all losing but not Loma
