It’s a highly commendable career but not by any stretch of imagination the greatest of all time. Some think Thurman’s injuries and inactivity cost him the fight but I don’t I just think Manny was better.

Brother, all you have to do is imagine a Flyweight going on to beating down welterweights. Impossible scenario, right?

Yeah like I said impressive but that does not make him the GOAT. The key question was whether he was the very best in every division he fought which we know he wasn’t always.

I get where you're coming from, but IMO, he has a good case. As does Floyd, SRR, Duran, Ali etc. Since you can only be the best of your generation, and Pac is one of the best of his generation of a career that spans over 4 decades over 10 weight divisions, he EASILY has a case.

The rest is just a matter of opinion.

Ali is consistently rated top 10 ATG for example, his best wins were Frazier, Foreman, Liston and Norton. I mean was Frazier a better HW ATG wise than MAB was at FW? I'd say about the same, they're both ATG's at that weight. Foreman was a tremendous win but Foreman's resume would be similar to that of Fury's today, in fact Fury may have a better resume compared to that Foreman. Was that Foreman better than Cotto, Morales, Bradley for example? If they existed in the same era and there was a p4p list.

    It becomes very subjective.

Point is, Ali had a lot of selling points, as does Pac. Their achievements would make your jaw drop, more so for Pac's achievements if you were completely oblivious to boxing and somebody was just telling you their accomplishments i.e

Ali most x HW champ in history at that point. Beat x champions etc. Then you start listing Pac's accomplishments and it's jaw dropping.

People seem to forget that Pac's been giving up significant size and weight advantages to all but one of his opponents (Marquez, maybe Bradley) over the last decade. You have guys saying that Pac is too big for Lomachenko despite many lightweights being bigger than Pac on fight night (Bogere, Linares, Campbell, Fortuna).

We should not rewrite history or embellish. Pacquiao has a great record that is not the subject of debate. Was he one of the best of his era the answer is yes, was he the best of his era and in every division he fought in the answer is No. MAB was a great fighter and I am biased because he was another of my favorites however let’s be clear as good as he was he was not the absolute destructive force Foreman was. Muhammed Ali is regarded as the greatest of all time for many reasons such as because of the outstanding level of competition he faced and beat, charisma etc but one of the major reasons Is he beat Liston and Foreman 2 big destructive devastating intimidating punchers nobody else could beat. Pacquiao is a special fighter and being in the top 20, 30 or 100 greatest fighters of all time is no mean feat. We are all familiar with Pacquiao‘s outstanding career however he is clearly not the GOAT and that is not disrespectful to him just being fair.

No we have not forgotten but so have others like Floyd who have moved up the divisions. It’s actual the number of divisions that Pacquiao has moved through that is astonishing! He is an ATG but not GOAT!
