Ortiz was a decent 200lbs plus puncher. How many times did Jeffries face a class man of 200lbs? Twice 1 win, one loss. Wilder has top end super heavyweight power . Jeffries never faced it.
Whom? Five feet eight 187lbs Sharkey? Two years retired past it Corbett, ancient Fitz, in and outer Ruhlin? I'm not saying Jeffries can't win this, its pretty close imo but lets be real. Jeffries never faced heavyweight power as we understand the term today.
Wilder's power looks overrated and his ko victim list is poor. Stiverne is Wilder's best ko win . A Stiverne ko can prove an Atg punching power… I doubt it. Interesting some Wilder fans how proud of his Stiverne and Ortiz wins. Seemingly Wilder is a boxing Terminator because he beat Stiverne….
Yes along with someone like Hank Griffin and outside chances for Bob Armstrong or Mexican Pete Everrett. I'm not high on today's top 10 outside of top names.
That's the problem with limited film, you actually have to read to learn about Jeffries. Many here have not. Wilder does not belong in these type of threads.
Armstrong and Everett couldn't maintain any consistency in their own era. How many of those named would go the distance with Wilder? Limited film of Jeffries is a problem, so it's best to read the diligently researched biography of him by Pollack before offering an opinion.

People who have actually punched by him say he's an enormous puncher. Tyson Fury, David Haye, Luis Ortiz, Malik Scott, Eric Molina, all of these guys rate his power enormous. "10/10" according to Haye, for example. They'd know.

It's reasonable to dispute his skills (though a lot of fighters have a lot to say about how unexpected, unorthodox, and difficult to box he is, too) but disputing his power is silly.
Yeah, he's very obviously a very hard puncher. I'd say that he's clearly the hardest puncher in a hard-punching division of very big men, but that's unfortunately going to be disputed for various reasons.
