There was a teaser about Fight Camp last week- the logistics must be ridiculous. Povetkin needs to be allowed in the country before anything moves forward I presume.
Doesnt all hinge around him though? Saw a Goodwin interview the other day he said for the upcoming shows promoters are wanting absolute walk overs. Which ain't promising
If I was Povetkin I’d want a cut of the PPV revenue on top of my purse. Hearn is in a tricky position as this all seems to be tied to his Sky contract.
I was under the impression that it would be three non PPVs and a PPV to keep Sky happy. Matchroom are in a very tricky position with Sky if they can’t get boxing on in August.
No massively. Wonder if Frank has been very shrewd in getting so many domestic fighter recently? Lower purses and easier to match
Sugden is being featured on Hennessy’s social media so it’ll likely be the British Title fight on in August.
The weeks seem to be going past without any firm announcements about Fight Camp. I’m starting to think they’re not happening.
25th July is the planned date for the first show, that's still over 5 weeks away, hopefully that's enough time for this to get off the ground and I'd like to think there will be lots going on behind the scenes. No official announcements yet but a couple of fights sound close to being made like Gill vs. Bellotti and Benn vs. Jenkins. I'm fairly optimistic that this Matchroom fight camp will happen. I don't doubt everybody involved wants this to go ahead. The fighters and the suits in the boardroom.
Why would Benn vs Jenkins happen on Sky when FW has Jenkins and other fighters to match him with. You would want to keep the belt within Queensbury? Not like the border has ordered that fight
Well the fight is being discussed, that's all I know. Do you know for a fact Jenkins is signed to Queensbury, and not just boxed on some of their shows before?
