People say that he was, but they just say it as if it's a given. But never exactly say how Foreman was better than one Max Baer. Some may say Max was better

George would have Joe Louis back and he beat Frazier and Norton two fighters that were better than Baer. Foreman`s jab was far better than Max`s.

Baer was for the most part just a very hard puncher with a tough chin, pretty good speed and a guy who was pretty big for his time.

Foreman was a guy with a tough chin, great power, underrated footwork, a very powerful jab, great body punches, tremendous Strength, very good timing, and he was great at parrying shots and controlling his opponent. He also proved himself against much better opposition than Baer.

Who's to say that Max Baer couldn't beat Foreman's best opponents and who's to say that Foreman could beat Max Baer's best wins?

Try watching something other than the Zaire fight if you think Foreman was just a swing for the fences slugger like Baer. There are dozens of videos on YouTube breaking down Foreman's underrated ring IQ.

About the only thing Baer has over Foreman is stamina and even that isn't a cut and dry conversation. They are not in the same class in terms of skill or resume.

I think that frazier's superior workrate, speed and his unending pressure lead to him stopping Baer in about 7 rounds. Baer may have the power to send him to the canvas, but nobody could keep Joe Frazier down.
I think he'd have a better chance against Norton due to Norton never doing well against punchers but I would still favour Norton to win a decision or late stoppage.
And i think Baer loses a decision against Moorer, though he'd have a big punchers chance.

I think Foreman beats all of Max's best wins and does it faster and in more devastating fashion than max with little trouble.

Really? Baer was an Olympic gold medalist that won heavyweight titles in two separate decades. Who did Baer beat when he was 45 years old for the heavyweight title? Four of the five losses on Foreman's record were to guys that won heavyweight titles. Jimmy Young being the one guy that never won a belt. Baer lost 13 times and was nowhere near as consistantly good as Foreman.

I'm not seeing a comparable resume at all.

Baer had a comparable right hand to Foreman

However, Foreman had a better jab, better left hook (see second Frazier fight). Foreman also threw powerful left uppercuts which is an exceedingly rare punch for a heavyweight to master (see Cooney fight)

Foreman was physically stronger, just as durable, more determined, and an overall better two handed puncher. Baer's right may be just as powerful and dynamic as Foreman's right but Foreman's left hand (jab, left hook, left uppercut) are significantly better.

Baer did have ATG potential though, i won't deny it.

Did he win Olympic gold at 19 and the heavyweight belt at 45? You have to be trolling.
