They'd harassed Ike for 14 months, while heavily sedated, to plead guilty to attempted **** & he'd be back boxing in 6 months. Ike had pleaded not guilty from day one. He did NOT even touch the hooker so they only had her word & that would never hold up in court. He finally entered a plea of no contest. You know the rest Ike got the Maximum sentence 5-30 years they successfully railroaded him. Put yourself in his place he was months in captivity under heavy sedation, You'd have done the same. Without him pleading no contest they had nothing to charge him with the & hooker was NOT assaulted.
I knew Ike from the day he first arrived in Texas from Nigeria & admit he was no angel but he did not deserve what happened to him he did not get justice. Like I said Do not believe all you read

 

He must of had a good reason. I dont think we should label a guy just for this. The DUIs? No excuse for that

Then, when the DA looked into charges over the case where he beat and imprisoned the stripper, they reopened a PREVIOUS case in Las Vegas involving another stripper.

He was found mentally incompetent to stand trial. This is a guy who grabbed a knife at a dinner with HBO executives to sign a deal, stood up and drove it into the table and started screaming. He had many other incidents Indicating mental illness in his past. He was remanded to a secure mental health facility and force-medicated because he was acting crazy and refusing medication.

He took the Alford plea. If he hadn’t, he would have stayed in the mental health facility until found competent then he would have been tried and, from the evidence, convicted.

By the way, the sentence was 2-10 years on one count and 3-20 on another. And he got out. And violated the conditions of his parole in Arizona for — and I know this will shock you — yet another arrest warrant from 2003.

Ike was (and presumably still is) a dangerous nutcase and a all-around bad actor.
