And the false imprisonment/kidnap when the teenager got seriously hurt in his car? Didn't happen either eh? Just a misunderstanding was it?

I'm not finding anything about that. I read that he beat a friend to death.

Butler and Valero had pretty obvious mental illnesses, bipolar and severe TBI.

Valero had a killer instinct at a very young age. He was street fighting as a kid and some say they would have gone to death if others didn't intervene. His wife was beautiful and they had 2 kids.... What he did, they is no excuse for. But I always wondered about his accident and the plate in his head

Some of these cases show how predatory pro boxing is:
    1. Ike was certifiably crazy before the incident that put him and away and Kushner and others just brushed it to the side. I dont know if he even made it to a psychiatrist before prison, but they all knew he was hearing voices, etc.
    2. Butler apparently showed up at the the UCLA psych ward after murdering Sam and demanded more bipolar meds. He might have been a trickier case because I think he was friendly most of the time and would go into episodes. (He was normal enough for Sam to share an apartment with him.)
    3. Valero was allowed to fight despite having a blood clot removed from his brain and failing MRI's.
    4. Morrison fought his entire career with known HIV.

That’s the incident I referenced with the 15-year-old son of his gf. I didn’t realize he was paralyzed but I knew he had horrific injuries.

    Ike should stay locked up.

I guess I do believe in the idea by now that once you start a thread, your expectation of how and where it will go is meaningless but the initial question posed is hardly ever addressed. It's become a laundry list of &*%$# people and the %$@!& things they've done. Shoulda seen that coming.

Sorry, kind of delved in fighter's crappy behavior rather than answer the question at hand. If a fighter's an utter degenerate, then it becomes difficult for me to root for them. If they committed acts in the past but turned their lives around and showed contrition for what they did (Hopkins) then I don't have any issue with rooting for them in fights.
