The Khan up until 2011 was on a path to potential greatness. The career of Khan post-2011 has gradually become a joke and then a parody. His obsession with fighting Mayweather and the time he wasted on pursuing (more accurately 'waiting for') this fight killed his career and motivation.

Nothing sums this up better than his switch to being trained by Hunter - a coach notorious for demanding his boxers take an all-year-round approach to the sport yet lamenting he didn't see Khan for months.

Then finally, vs Crawford, how Khan dealt with the blow to the inner thigh. Whatever anyone might think as to why he did that (real pain or a way out from a fight he was losing) the Khan from the first and middle part of his career would not have chosen to 'quit'... he would have walked right back into the heat.

It's a shame, but overall he's been a disappointment, with two caveats: He gave us exciting fights and was a true warrior until that passion for battle badly waned...

 

I honestly couldn’t believe a lot of people were favouring Kovalev to be honest.

I do have a bit of sympathy in the fact that Kovalev had been a champion for a while and had fought BHop and Ward so he was a much bigger draw.

 

Then the truth of the matter would prove Khan and his fanboys wrong

Kovalev's decline was swift and brutal. Got knocked out by Ward, Eleider Alvarez, and then was on the verge of being stopped by a prospect. Not only did Kovalev have a very short break after the Yarde fight, but Clenelo hung a crippling rehydration clause around his neck. Kovalev was a shell of himself, which was why Clenelo selected him. The Kovalev before Ward 2 would have slept Clenelo.

 

He was half way out the ring before he even finished the sentence lol

Offensively he was a C- not that great in any department just average wasn't slick for a guy with poor power and chin he sure likes to mix it up but gets caught a lot.

I think he was a fast handed no power and no chin to back up his shoe shine flurries.
