Tyson Fury has parted ways with Daniel Kinahan as his adviser and the negotiations for the World Boxing Council heavyweight champion's contests with Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua - already agreed for next year - will be handled in future by Bob Arum and his Top Rank Boxing, the American promoter revealed to Telegraph Sport on Wednesday. Kinahan has been advising Fury for the last three years, including his comeback from obesity and depression when he weighed 28st and was suffering from mental health issues. Fury came back to reclaim the world title in February this year in Las Vegas against Deontay Wilder, having first won three of the world titles against Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, after which his life spiralled out of control. Arum, speaking exclusively to The Telegraph, said on Wednesday: “Over the weekend I’ve had a lot of conversations with Tyson Fury and what we both decided is that myself, Top Rank and Fury will do all negotiations for fights in the future. Whether it’s for Joshua or Wilder or anybody else. We’ve informed Eddie Hearn about that. He knows where to go for the negotiations. Tyson and I have had long negotiations about it. That’s the way it’s going to be." Fury thanked Kinahan two weeks ago on an Instagram post for negotiating an "agreed two fight deal" with Hearn and Joshua for next year, which led to Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar expressing "outrage" and calling for a sport and media boycott. Other Irish politicians insisted that the 42-year-old Irishman, the alleged leader of a criminal cartel, should not be involved in the biggest, richest boxing fight in British history, in which both fighters could earn more than £60 million each. In spite of the allegations against him, Kinahan has no criminal convictions. "This will eliminate a lot of confusion," added Arum. "We’ve talked with Dan, who Tyson and I both love and admire and respect, and he understands that it's best the negotiations on Tyson’s side be handled that way. Both Tyson and I have each discussed this with Dan and he is amenable and satisfied and wished us luck. He only wants the best for Tyson Fury. “Eddie [Hearn] has been informed of that. First of all there’s the negotiations to finalise for Deontay Wilder. We will do that on Tyson’s behalf with Premier Boxing Champions. But when I say Bob Arum, I mean Top Rank people. We’re one entity. We’re working now with venues in Nevada and in Texas to do that Fury-Wilder sometime in December. And also to negotiate with Eddie and Joshua and with any site that will make a proposal for the Fury-Joshua fight, assuming Joshua beats Pulev and Fury is successful with Wilder.”
I would imagine that this announcement is just a PR tactic. Kinahan to stay 'working' behind the scenes but before that declare that you are no longer involved so the promotion of the fight is not clouded with controversy.
Either that or he has been given a % of future fights to take a step back. No way would he just turn around and say 'fair play I'll be on my way now'
So Tyson Fury the habitual liar is no longer connected to Kinahan, who definitely has nothing to do with MTK anymore.
Drug Barons are vermin and this piece of shyte will still be calling the shots behind the scenes. The MTK brand is eternally tarnished
The hypocrisy of this is comical. If Fury-Joshua does happen, it'll be in Saudi, who treat women like objects, behead people in public squares, murder journalists, and pump money into building Islamic fundamentalist Mosques across Europe. That's seemingly okay, but a gangster from Ireland might be having influence behind the scenes with Tyson Fury? Outrageous! This must be stopped!
Kinahan is white trash like most of the boxers associated with him. The real o.g's don't talk much. He's a crappy gangster.
Does Kinahan talk much? What has he said? I've never read any quotes from him or saw him give any interviews etc.
He doesn't necessarily talk too much. People like Arum and the sheikhs know he's relatively low brow. He's not some scary gun runner/human trafficker type. He puts his face out there etc and if he was smart he would vanish to the shadows completely. The reality of the situation is the one's who are operating are hidden away...i.e...money laundering/funneling money through restaurants in europe, human trafficking, etc.. are the one's to watch out for. Who do you really think funds MTK Global etc... It's not him... It's not his money.
