Ridiculous hyperbole. James Toney has struggled with slick moving southpaws because he always keeps his feet planted to counter. Reggie Johnson is a much better comparison than Nunn for BJS, and he did pretty well! Some people think he won. The best Toney didn't turn up in that fight, but the principal still stands. Toney would have to be on top form to win this, it's straight up ignorant to think otherwise.
What are you saying here? Are you saying Toney is levels above Monzon and hagler, or are you saying the opposite? Either way it's crazy, Hagler would out work Toney idgaf. I don’t know why people act like Toney didn’t lose to guys worse than most of the fighters he’s matched up with in fantasy fights. Great fighter but those losses occurred.
Anything can happen in the ring is a maxim in boxing but somethings are just to obvious. Toney is an ATG whereas the best fighter Billy Jane Saunders has faced is David Lemieux. The fact Toney knocked out Michael Nunn at his peak and beat Reggie Johnson who are a million times better than anybody Billy has faced or will face should tell you all you need to know.
I am saying matching Toney against these ATGs is a respectable fantasy match up but matching him with Billy Jane Saunders is ridiculous in my opinion.
BJS’s best win is David Lemieux. Billy has been a pro for over TEN YEARS and that’s his best win. James Toney was already an ATG by then with some ATG scalps by then.
