Youngest Heavyweight Champion Ever: Patterson or Tyson?

Patterson, Tyson was 22 when he did beat Spinks right? of course it was not fault of mike that then had 25 belts a not one like it should be.
(he won the ibf to tucker but.... i don't know, too many things to judge here)

 

Tyson was NOT the hwt champion until he beat Spinks. Period.

I believe it was Mike Tyson on Nov 22 1986 with his knockout of WBC World Heavyweight Champion Trevor Berbick.

 

Actually it should be Patterson,he won the lineal belt at 21 and Tyson did beat spinks at 22

 

Tyson was indeed older than when Floyd beat Moore, when he beat Spinks, but at least for a few more days thereafter he was 21.

 

You're an idiota. By your logic Berbick was champion but Tyson who destroyed him for the belt wasn't.
Spinks wasn't champion in 1988.

Otherwise Tyson is the youngest hw. world champion by the Guiness Rec. book. Tyson is the youngest hw. world ch.

LOL; The Guinness Book of Records (GBOR) make the alphabet organisations look like saints*.


Unlike the alphabet organisations, where you go through the game of pretending to be honest, you literally can pay GBOR to have your name in their record books.


I could pay GBOR to make me the youngest Heavyweight Champion of the World with my 1988 claim as a 14 year old.

Berbick, whom Tyson beat, was an organizational world champion. That organization's lineage dates back a whopping three years when the World Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes decided he didn't want anything to do with that organization anymore and vacated the belt.

Michael Spinks beat Larry Holmes, defended the crown every year, and was World Heavyweight Champion when he lost to Tyson. If I recall correctly, even Tyson's management stated that Mike wouldn't be World Heavyweight Champion until he beat Spinks.

How these organizations conned people into thinking they are the be-all-end-all is beyond me.

If we are counting organizational titles, Tyson is the youngest champ:
1. Mike Tyson - 20 years, 4 months, 22 days
2. Luther McCarty - 20 years, 9 months, 14 days
3. Floyd Patterson - 21 years, 10 months, 26 days
4. Muhammad Ali - 22 years, 1 month, 8 days

However, if you don't count the organizational belts, it looks more like this:
1. Floyd Patterson - 21 years, 10 months, 26 days
2. Mike Tyson - 21 years, 11 months, 27 days
3. Muhammad Ali - 22 years, 1 month, 8 days
