If Lewis/Klitchsko was in black and white most here would call them unskilled bums

They would say "lol not a jab thrown...they look like toughman competitors rather than pro boxers" or "look how clumsy they are, they'd be lucky to crack the top 20 today".

Remember that when you talk about Primo Carnera, Buddy Baer, Jess Willard etc

That fight was a shootout; Vitali seemed pissed with Lewis and Lewis obliged him in a brawl. Great, great fight.

Yes, but would you say the same if a B&W filter were applied to the footage?

@Seamus would roast Lewis and VK to high heaven if he saw them fight in black and white. They looked very similar to Carnera/Impellitaire

    Yes.

They would also claim that neither Lewis nor Vitali are really greats because we don't know how they would do against a good boxer who was 7'5".

Then they would say that neither would hold a candle to prime Cleveland Williams, who, after all, was highly commended by the guys who beat him, and had a very useful win against Alex Miteff.

Finally, we could have to hear a point-by point on how every single fighter that either faced was over-the-hill, or a hype job, not at all like the lions fought by Larry Holmes.

Let's be honest, it wasn't exactly their most skilfull fight to start with. A BW filter, slightly out of focus and jumpy view would make anybody look worse I think.

This fight was entertaining as hell, but it was terrible from technical standpoint. I'm sure that people would attack them had they fought 80 years ago instead of just 20.

True. However, being serious for one moment, I think that I'd have seen the value of the contest, even through a black and white lens. As scrappy as the fight was overall, there were some aspects of skill on display.

That said, I should imagine there is software available, which can add old 8mm film effects - big, distracting scratches and all, to test the theory - mere grayscale wouldn't be enough.
