You know, I'm at the point where I don't think GGG would get the decision anywhere in the world. With Canelo there is no fair shake. The third fight is a big gamble because GGG fought great in both fights already. Nothing but complete dominance or a KO will get him a win, and I'm not talking about a clear win like the first fight, I'm talking about a beat down with blood and several knockdowns.
Not in the olden days but plenty guys in this day in age were prime at 35. For example , the best two MWs of the past 20 years were at their best at 35 to 37 - Martinez and Hopkins.
No one truly believes that Canelo beats the best version of Golovkin. Hell very few believe that Canelo beat the version of Golovkin he fought anyways.
That's going to be tough, because, despite what I think of Canelo's tricks around his fights, when it gets down to brass tacks in the ring, he really is a world class fighter and is as tough as ****ing armourplate.
I think he was at his best way before that. The Canelo who beat Trout to underline his status as the best LMW in the world is as good as he's ever been. He's gotten bigger since then obviously but not any better imo.
I actually think he's improved significantly since going up to MW. He's developed actual footwork, better stamina and is more powerful physically. I think he was cutting an absurd amount of weight and that it adversely affected his performance.
He was guilty, live with it ,deal with it, it's a fact. Even Nevada suspended him. It will stay on his record like GGG'S bogus draw and loss.Just put an asterisk next to his name at the Hall of fame.
I don't no man, the way he fought against Trout and Lara was clearly elite. He has got bigger and more powerful, but that's part of going up in weight.
GGG landed some of them cork screw shots on Canelo followed by a powerful jab and Canelo didn't like them at all. I think Canelo was hurt a couple times in the later rounds of fight #2, GGG hit him with the powerful right hand in round 10. Credit to Canelo for keeping his composure, and making GGG miss with his finishing shots or Canelo would have been on the deck, or even stopped. Canelo also got manhandled some in round 11 and looked vulnerable.
Very true, but GGG is committed to fighting Canelo because of his DAZN contract, so that's why he is getting his Ring magazine #6 ranked, IBF#1 ranked tuneup first, so he's ready for War not all wore out like Canelo wants him to be. It does seem unlikely, but GGG has the ability and power to pull it off. He hasn't let anybody down yet. The politics did.
