Samuel Eggington vs. Theodore Cheeseman

Ted will batter him and end his career.

 

Interestingly both lads have really worked on defence and movement coming back from heavy beatings. Sam looked a different Fighter against Fioridigiglio in Italy. I also saw his fight with Daniel Urbanski at Aston Villa. Urbanski is a full Light Heavyweight and his corner pulled him out at the end of the second. Sam was breaking Urbanski up with his jab.
I guess we all saw Cheeseman get on his Boxing against Fitzy. He really should have got the nod that night.
I don't reckon Cheeseman will expect Sam to slip and counter. It will blow his mind. He'll be rattled and will revert to type, drop his hands and wade in. It will be very hard for Sam to resist the temptation to join in with a real tear up but if he can he could bust up and stop Ted.
Interestingly, Cheeseman was supposed to fight Jason Welborn for the Commonwealth Title last year but pulled out so James Metcalfe got the shot. Maybe all is not well behind the scenes with Cheeseman still.
Either way, it's got all the makings of a terrific fight between two very genuine, whole hearted lads. Good luck to them both.

 

The last time I bet on Sam I had Egg on my face. The last time I bet on Ted I ended up having more cheese man

 

Both haven’t got the greatest of defence but I’m picking cheeseman due to being young and has a good engine and punch output.
Eggington has been through enough hard fights I think he hangs them up after this.

Gill vs Bellotti is the one I’m looking forward to! Did Gill really have food poisoning that night or does he not like the body shots? Bellotti will ask that question

 

I’m going to go against the grain here and back Eggington.

He’s got a lot more experience and heart than Cheeseman, fought at a higher level, been in with much better competitors. Cheeseman is currently in a bad run of form. Destroyed by Garcia (no shame in that really), underwhelming against Conway and then he was sort of caught in a transition against Fitz, he didn’t know what type of fighter he was/wanted to be.

I think it will be very close, expect Eggington to apply the pressure like Garcia did but obviously with less talent. I think he could nick it on the cards, a tight one 115-113 or something like that.

 

Sadly I think you may be right. I don't want this fight to happen, don't see any real winners come out of it.

Some good action throughout but cheesemans boxing ability is the thing that will shine through to get him the win

 

The res probably an element of truth to him having food poisoning but not in the way he's trying to use it as a excuse. A bad bout of food poisoning would easily be noticed by his coach/ manger and he'd of been pulled.
I just don't think he stands up to body shots well. Belloti is a decent body puncher which I've no doubt he will target even more now. Well get a good chance to decide if it really was the body shots that n8ght.

 

I agree, Bellotti will have to be careful he doesn’t get caught trying to land the bodyshots, the fact that Doyle stopped Bellotti and gill then stopped Doyle makes this fight very interesting

 

Ted is short for Edward not Theodore.

 

I don’t think Eggington has looked to comfortable at 154, Cheesman will be to big and strong for him. Can’t see Eggington troubling Cheesman with anything.
