I think Maidana at his best would probably win. He had too many tricks up his sleeve for Margarito and wouldn't fold to Margartio's power.
Why does anyone use Margarito in h2h discussions? Do cycling fans use Lance Armstrong in h2h discussions?
If Margarito cheated his whole career then we have a HUGE problem in boxing and he's not the only one. It means that commission after commission failed for years. But alright, even if you remove gloves from factoring in, Margarito was still better than Maidana.
How are we supposed to know how good he was without them of we don't know how many of his fights were done legitimately? It seems to make more sense to just throw the whole career out.
And proceeded to get the dog **** beat out of him. Which once again begs the question of how good is he without his illegal wraps? We don't know. So we may as well not bother discussing him h2h. You can of course do whatever you want, but that's my take.
Mosley would beat the dog **** outta Maidana as well, so the outcome of that fight has no bearing on how this would turn out. Boxing is filled with incompetence, but it's a stretch to believe that Margarito snuck plaster past MULTIPLE commissions over a span of 5-6 years. So if we get past that, Margarito was just better. Maidana has become overrated.
